are here!
Stocks have now
arrived (in English)
of this EU-funded
introduction to
electric bikes, aimed
both at end users and
municipal decision
makers. It’s part of the
promotional initiative
which I mentioned
briefly in the ‘Europe
Calling’ article in
Issue 5. This EUfunded
project aims to
encourage e-bike use
and is brand-neutral (so no reviews).
Subjects covered include: e-bikes market analysis,
e-bike guide (glossary, motor positions, systems,
controls, batteries and their potential hazards, range
and charging), marketing, product groups, testing
and the image of pedelecs. Political views on e-bikes.
Ecological aspects. Safety, standards, EU directives, CE
and GS marking, BATSO battery safety, and suggestions
for policy makers at local and national levels.
The Handbook is A4 in size and runs to 84 pages in
colour.
I should also mention that the handbook can
be downloaded for free in a variety of languages,
including English, at www.gopedelec.eu/handbook –
where you can also enter a competition to win an
electric folding bike.
