APSA, a former member of CPS, founding
member of PSNZ, and keen landscape
photographer of considerable ability.

RULES OF ENTRY
1. There is only one section in this year’s Laurie Thomas NZ Landscape Salon - Digitally
Projected Images. Both slides and/or digital images can be entered.
2. A Champion Trophy will be awarded to the top image (this could be either a slide or a
digital image).
3. You may enter between 1 and 4 entries. This entry can be made up of either slides or
digital images, or a combination of both.
4. Only New Zealand landscapes are eligible. This year’s Selection Panel will particularly
look for images that generally depict the New Zealand landscape.
5. No image that has previously been successful (e.g. Accepted) or any cropped portion
of any image that has been previously accepted in the Laurie Thomas Salon may be
re-entered.
6. No image – whether slide or digital – may be manipulated during processing in any
way that materially alters the facts of the landscape at the time of exposure.
Slide Entries
7. Slides may be trade-processed but must have been exposed by the entrant.
8. Slides must be in standard 5cm x 5cm mounts. Both card-mounted and glass-mounted
slides are acceptable.
9. All slides must be spotted on the bottom left-hand corner when in the hand-held
viewing position.
10. Slides must be numbered to correspond with the entry form.
11. The title of the slide should be visible and legible when the slide is in the projector
(i.e. upside down on the lower edge when in the hand-held viewing position).
12. The entrant’s name must be on the reverse side of each slide.
Digital Entries
13. Digital entries shall be submitted as JPG files only, and saved to CD ROM at 72dpi in
sRGB format, sized no more than 1024 pixels wide for horizontal images (x 768 high),
or 768 pixels high for vertical images (x 512 wide). Digital entries submitted in any
other file format, resolution, size, or on other media will not be accepted.
14. Minor enhancements such as correcting exposure, contrast, and sharpening are
acceptable. But all other manipulation is prohibited under Rule 6.
15. Digital files are to be named thus . Example… My Favourite
Landscape.jpg.
16. No other data, author’s name or identification is to be included in the file name.
17. CD’s/DVD’s will not be returned, they will be destroyed after the catalogue is produced.
Slides will be returned only if return postage & packaging is supplied.
All Entries
18. Christchurch Photographic Society Inc will take all reasonable care of the entries but
cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage which may occur.
19. Christchurch Photographic Society Inc will be entitled without payment of any fee to
the exhibitor to copy any image for:
(a) Archives or recorded lectures of the Society and/or the Photographic Society of
New Zealand (PSNZ) or for a (screen resolution) CD/DVD of successful entries.
(b) Reproduction in any Laurie Thomas NZ Landscape exhibition or catalogue.
(c) Reproduction in newspapers, magazines or elsewhere in promoting the Laurie
Thomas NZ Landscape Salon.
20. Any dispute concerning these rules may be referred in writing to the Christchurch
Photographic Society Inc whose decision will be final and binding.
21. Submission of entries implies acceptance of the above rules and conditions.
