CUNY Start is a low-cost, intensive 16 week/25 hour per week program available for<br />

students who have been accepted <strong>to</strong> <strong>Queensborough</strong> Community College but have failed<br />

two or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CUNY Assessment Tests. Students receive intensive instruction in<br />

academic reading, writing, and pre-college math, and are provided academic and personal<br />

advising, preparing <strong>the</strong>m for <strong>the</strong> CUNY Placement tests and college-level work.<br />

Classes meet Monday-Friday, 9:10am-3pm, February 7-July 17 (2 Phases)<br />

CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP)<br />

This program is a full-time ESL program for CUNY freshmen. To apply for CLIP, <strong>the</strong> student<br />

must first apply <strong>to</strong> CUNY and be admitted <strong>to</strong> one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CUNY colleges for a degree or<br />

certificate program. CLIP prepares ESL students for college level work in English. Students<br />

are placed in CLIP based on <strong>the</strong>ir CUNY freshmen placement test scores.<br />
