The Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center (YNHSMC), an
extension of Yale-New Haven Hospital, brings the advanced
health care of a national academic medical center to your
backyard, with all the comforts and amenities of a community
healthcare facility. Shoreline residents can access high-quality,
convenient outpatient care in the shoreline area’s largest, most
comprehensive medical center. In addition to physician offices,
the YNHSMC offers ambulatory care, including one-day surgery,
diagnostic radiology and cancer services, as well as emergency
care 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
Diagnostic Radiology, 203-453-7200
This location offers a full range of diagnostic radiology
services, including CT scanning, ultrasound, magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy, diagnostic X-ray,
bone density and digital mammography. Same-day
appointments and evening hours are available for patient

Health Education Programs
Each spring and fall, Yale-New Haven Hospital offers a
series of health talks at this location. These programs are
free and open to the public. Please visit our website at

Hospital Pre-Admission Office, 203-453-7111
The Yale-New Haven Hospital pre-admission office offers
pre-admission and maternity registration for planned
admissions to YNHH, as well as financial counseling, help
with billing questions and general information about
YNHH services.
Laboratory Medicine/Blood Tests
The laboratory medicine/blood draw station at the
YNHSMC provides convenient blood-drawing services
for patients in the area. Many tests are performed on-site
providing quicker access to results for the ordering physician.

Emergency Department
The YNHSMC has a full-service emergency
department which cares for adults and
children with a full range of emergency
illnesses and injuries. We are open 24
hours a day, seven days a week. Our
department is staffed with board-certified
emergency medicine physicians and midlevel
providers, as well as experienced
RNs and technicians. The department is
supported by the on-site services of diagnostic
radiology and laboratory medicine.

Nuclear Medicine, 203-453-7191
Nuclear medicine testing is now more convenient for shoreline residents.
The YNHSMC nuclear medicine service offers scans of various organs
such as the bone, liver, kidneys and the gastrointestinal system, as well as
advanced imaging techniques for diagnosis of cancer, infections,
osteomyelitis, neuro-endocrine tumors, hepatic hemangiomas and other

Nutrition Center, 203-453-7199
The YNHSMC nutrition center offers individualized nutrition counseling
with a registered dietitian to help people design an eating plan specific
to their needs. Follow-up appointments provide the support and reinforcement
needed to bring about permanent and healthy lifestyle changes. For

Radiation Oncology, 203-453-7170
The YNHSMC radiation oncology center, in affiliation with Smilow Cancer
Hospital and the National Cancer Institute-designated Yale Cancer Center,
provides convenient care for shoreline residents who are in need of daily
radiation therapy. In addition to the daily treatments, full clinic services are
also available, including patient consultations and follow-up visits for
patients who have completed their prescribed course of radiation therapy, as
well as support group meetings which are held several times per month.
Surgery Centers, 203-453-7100
The Surgery Centers at YNHSMC include services for one-day surgery,
pain management, endoscopy and gastrointestinal services, each with three
fully-equipped operating and procedure rooms providing patients the latest
technology and equipment. After a procedure, patients are moved to comfortable
recovery areas. In addition, on-site pathology services are supported
by the Yale Pathology Labs, which provide expedited processing and interpretation
so physicians will be able to make a diagnosis or evaluation quickly.
Women’s Education Life Learning – WELL/A Mother’s Place
The YNHSMC offers a five-week childbirth preparation course, a total
pregnancy fitness class, AfterDance exercise for mom and baby, and a
breastfeeding couples class sponsored by Yale-New Haven Hospital’s highly
