Study of Shock-turbulent Boundry Layer Interaction in High-speed air
Intake.
RA: (1Post) : Eligibility : Bachelor of Engineering in
Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering with First Class. Experience in CFD
is preferred.
Salary : Rs.12000/-p.m.
Job Profile : Simulation of hypersonic flows in aerospace applications.
Real-life configurations like re-entry capsule and scramjet engine will be
simulated. Large scale parallel simulations are to be run on a linux cluster
using an in-house CFD code. Analysis of flow solutions to study the
aerodynamic and propulsion performance of the application.
Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas(CTARA)
P(03-2)
Demonstration and assessment of economic viability of new energy
efficient and less polluting brick making technology (vertical shaft brick
kiln,VSBK) in tribal block of Konkan region in western Maharashtra.
RA : (1 Post) Eligibility : The candidates should have qualification
equivalent to: BE / BTech / ME / MTech (Mechanical /Chemical
/Environmental /Energy /Production /Industrial /Civil /Metallurgy and
Material Science /Agricultural Engineering) Or MBA (Rural Management)
Or M.Sc. (Physics /Chemistry /Geology etc.) Knowledge of Marathi is
essential. Candidates with a valid GATE score will be preferred.
Experience with Field work and Laboratory work will be beneficial.
Salary : Rs.8000/- to 10000/- p.m.
Job Profile: The person recruited in this position will have to work
extensively at a rural field site (about 100 km from Mumbai), helping in
the setup of and then in monitoring, assessment and dissemination of a
new type brick-making unit (vertical shaft brick kiln or VSBK).
Chemical Engineering :

Dynamic Date Driven Model Based Predictive Control of Nuclear Steam
Generator
RA: (1 Post) Eligibility : M.Tech (with minimum 2 years of experience)
or Ph.D in Control Systems /Process Control. Background in system
identification, state estimation and model predictive control is preferable.
Salary : Rs.16000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Develop algorithms and software toolboxes in Matlab and C
for system identification, state estimation and model predictive control is
preferable.
Chemistry :
P(03-4) Coupling of Nitrovinyl anion with novel carbon and hetroatom centred

SRF: (1 Post) Eligibility : M.Sc in Chemistry with minimum two years

P(03-7) Strain analysis of Moyar-Bhavani-Salem-Attur shear Zone around Salem,
TamilNadu, India.
JRF: (1 Post) Eligibility : Ist Class M.Sc in Geology with specialization
in Structural geology and /or Metamorphic Petrology. GATE/CSIR
qualified (Preferably). As candidate is required to enroll for Ph.D
Programme; candidate having motivation towards research, who can stay

Job Profile : The Candidate has to carry geological mapping, perform
microscopic study, structural analysis. EPMA, metamorphic study,

Electrical Engineering

RE: (3 Posts) Eligibility : BE/BTech, Electrical/Electronics/Computer
Science/Engineering Skill set: Design, Develop, Test and Support
software applications using Java/J2EE (Java Swing, Hibernate, XML,
JDBC) technologies, JBOSS Application Server, Oracle Database.
Design skills will be an added advantage. Should be a good team player
and have good communication skills (verbal and written). Experience
Level: 1.5 to 4 Years.

Physics :

P(03-13) Theoretical studies of electronic structure and optical properties of
polymers
RA/JRF: (1 Post) Eligibility: For RA: A Ph.D in theoretical condensed
matter physics or a related field (such as quantum chemistry,
computational material science). Experience and /or inclination towards
code development in Fortran 90 is absolutely essential. For JRF :M.Sc
in physics (or an equivalent degree) with first class. Good knowledge of
quantum mechanics, and familiarity with computer programming
(preferably in Fortran) required. JRF position can choose to enroll in the
Ph.D programme in IIT Bombay. After reasonable progress JRF position
will be upgraded to SRF.
Salary : RA: Rs.16000/- to 18000/- p.m. (Depending upon the
qualification and experience) JRF : Rs.12000/- p.m.
P(03-14) Some Studies in Spin Dependent e-p and p-p Scattering Processes at
High Energies
JRF: (1 Post) Eligibility: M.Sc in physics with first class preferably
GATE/NET qualified. Should have done courses on quantum mechanics,
quantum field theory and particle physics with emphasis on physics
related to colliders, perturbative QCD, study of spin and angular
momentum of nucleons.
Salary: JRF: Rs.10000/- p.m. In Campus accommodation will be
provided. Entitled for HRA and Medical allowance as the rules of IIT.
