WHAT HAVE SCHOOLS BEEN UP TO!
Tynewydd Primary – Litter Pick
On Wednesday 2 nd February we did a litter pick.
What we collected:
Sweet wrappers, cigarette ends, cans, plastic, paper, tissues, bottle tops, cable ties,
carrier bags, and ribbon.
We spent 15 minutes in the rain collecting all the litter that we could from around
the school grounds
In the car park we found bits of paper that had been dropped by the people who collect
recycling. Three plastic containers had blown off the saplings that we had planted. We
think that most of the wrappers were blown in like cans and cigarettes. Every thing
collected was wet. Which meant that our weights were heavier than dry weights.
Leaves 40grams
General rubbish 426 grams
We recycled the paper, cans and plastic items that were found and put the leaves
in with our green waste collection.
