He stood<br />
against the chipped wall<br />
and stared. It was<br />
an homage to her to<br />
stand until he was done,<br />
complete. She was restless, a force,<br />
a hurricane<br />
in the summer. He focused<br />
on her painting in a blue frame,<br />
that hung crooked, void. Empty,<br />
greedy to see her, a kiss on his neck,<br />
wanting her in the dark, in the light,<br />
invisible. Hungry, thirsty,<br />
exhausted for her<br />
but feared if he was done<br />
mourning it would complete<br />
his infatuation with her.<br />
