Bradford Distribution<br />

<strong>Dr</strong>. <strong>Atta</strong>-<strong>ur</strong>-<strong>Rahman</strong> contributed 766 publications d<strong>ur</strong>ing the entire period <strong>of</strong><br />

productivity (1966- June 2007). For the ten publications the names <strong>of</strong> channels <strong>of</strong><br />

communication are not mentioned. To test for the remaining 756 publications<br />

whether his contribution follows Bradford distribution or not, the productivity is<br />

divided into three zones each having approximately 252 papers.<br />

Bradford multiplier is 4 in this case. According to this multiplier the number <strong>of</strong><br />

publications in the third zone should be 4x4x4 = 64 which is exactly the same as<br />

actual number 64. Thus the data follows the Bradford Law <strong>of</strong> distribution, Garfield,<br />

E. (1979).<br />
