EMPLOYMENT
Analyst and Adjunct Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Department, Univ. of
Idaho, Jan. 2009 - current
I am responsible for developing and maintaining economic models for Idaho farm and ranch operations,
including costs and returns analysis for all major crops and livestock systems. I also provide economic analyses
as a member of multidisciplinary state, regional, and national research projects.
Sustainable Systems Analyst, Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources, Washington State
University, Jan. 2006 – Dec. 2008.
I had a three-year, grant-funded position as a Sustainable Systems Analyst for the Center for Sustaining
Agriculture and Natural Resources at WSU. I developed enterprise budgets for alternative and conventional
cropping systems and analyzed economic and environmental impacts of various cropping systems. I also
analyzed experimental cropping systems for several WSU and USDA researchers.
Owner, web-based internet business, 1994 - 2005
I owned and operated a home-based business marketing products from our sheep farm (handspinning supplies)
as well as other related products. I also started a family during this time and stayed home with my young
children. I sold this successful web-based business in May 2005.
Post-Doctoral research positions: Washington State Univ., 1992 – 2001 Univ. of Idaho, 1992 - 1994
I worked on research projects in the areas of sustainable agriculture, economic and environmental modeling,
farm policy, farm management, and transportation studies.
