Before the activity
Students watch Homes Vodcast at home or in the classroom. Each student will need a copy of
the prompt card on Worksheet 1.
Procedure
1 Elicit from the class what they can remember from the video about the collection of antiques
and paintings. Also ask the students their opinions about the home in the video, e.g. Would you
like to live in a house like that?
2 Organise the class into groups of four to seven students, and give each student a copy of the
prompt card. Describe one of your favourite possessions based on the question card (without
naming it), and invite guesses about what it is.
3 Each student thinks of a favourite personal possession, and completes the prompt card
accordingly (without writing the name of the object). In their groups, the students then take it in
turns to describe their object. The others in the group must try to guess what it is.
