11. Current status of the implementation of the global LRIT system and The
Bahamas LRIT Data Centre
11.1. A number of LRIT data centres remain to be established, tested and integrated into
the LRIT system.
11.2 The Bahamas has established its national data centre which will be managed on
its behalf by Fulcrum Maritime Systems Ltd (www.fulcrum-maritime.com) who is
also authorized as The Bahamas Recognized Application Service Provider
(Recognized ASP) to perform the functions in accordance with section 5.3 of the
revised LRIT performance standards and functional requirements.
11.3 All applicable Bahamian vessels will be integrated into The Bahamas LRIT Data
Centre depending on the date of their radio related survey and subject to a
satisfactory conformance test of the shipborne LRIT equipment.
11.4 The BMA will notify the Company of any failure of the Recognized ASP,
Communication Service Provider (CSP), Bahamas LRIT Data Centre or any other
circumstances that will affect the transmission of LRIT information from the ship.
The Master shall record such notification in the ship’s Official Log Book.
12. Fees
12.1 The following fees shall apply to LRIT documentation issued by the BMA:
Initial Conformance Test Report: US$400
Amended and/or subsequent Conformance Test Report: US$200
Exemption/Equivalent Arrangement Document: US$150
12.2 The vessel will have to be issued with an amended Ship Radio License
incorporating the shipborne LRIT equipment. The fee for the revised Ship Radio
License is:
.1 US$75 for ships 1600GT and less,
.2 US$150 for ships 1601GT and above.
12.3 Unless otherwise requested, the Conformance Test Report and revised Ship
Radio License will be returned by courier to the applicant. The fee related to this
service is currently US$60.
13. Collating of Data for Effective Implementation of LRIT
13.1 In order to ensure the effective implementation of the LRIT requirements to the
Bahamian fleet, the BMA continues to collate data for the Bahamas LRIT Data
Centre.
13.2 For this process, it is necessary to obtain information from all ships/units in order
to accurately assess whether they are required to comply with the LRIT
requirements.
