Open House Weekend<br />

<strong>Japan</strong> <strong>Society</strong> was selected as one of 40 New York City landmarks for the 2012<br />

Partners in Preservation program, sponsored by American Express and the National<br />

Trust for Historic Preservation, which awarded $3 million to preserve the city’s historic<br />

buildings, icons and landmarks as part of the program. On May 5 and 6, 2012, the<br />

<strong>Society</strong> welcomed more than 1,500 visitors to its Partners in Preservation Open House<br />

Weekend, featuring free gallery admission and tours, movie screenings, a manga<br />

workshop, <strong>Japan</strong>ese language and shodo classes, and lots of fun for everyone.
