Welcome to Muehlhan A/S
As an employee at Muehlhan there are a series
of conditions of which you need to be aware and
which are important to the safety.
A safe workplace is also your responsibility! The
workplace does not only consist of machines
and equipment, but of you and your colleagues.
We all have a responsibility for each other and
with common sense and care we will get far.
To a great extent, safety is a matter of attitude.
As a result, all employees have to read and
follow the guidelines of this brochure.
Should you have any questions to the contents,
please contact your foreman, safety
representative or the company’s management.
General safety rules
The rules and regulations of the Health and
Safety Act at Work and The Danish Working
Environment Authority must always be
observed, as well as the rules of the integrated
management system (IMS), including OHSAS-
18001 (work environment), ISO-14001
(environmental) and ISO-9001 (quality).
All Muehlhan employees have the right and
obligation to speak up, when work methods or
other conditions jeopardize the safety at the
work place.
If the safety rules are violated, this must be
reported to the foreman or safety
representative.
Your responsibility, you must…
work and move with care
follow work regulations
observe current safety rules
follow the direction for use of PPE
make sure to have the necessary
mandatory courses for your work (ex.
truck certificate and epoxy course)
participate actively in the cooperation
regarding safety and health
inform the foreman, if you find errors in
the work place or accidents or near
accidents.
Orientation meeting for new employees
As a new employee one of the first co-workers
you meet, will be your foreman and the safety
representative.
The foreman is responsible for that you –
before beginning work – will be thoroughly
informed about the safety, health and
environmental rules in the department. You will
be informed about where to find the workplace
evaluation (APV), the workplace manual and
evacuation plan for your workplace.
You will also be briefed about the structure of
the Safety organisation and upon request
receive this.
The Safety organisation consists of local safety
groups and a safety committee.

Main tasks of the Safety organisation
To secure that all work is performed in
sound manner regarding safety and
health
To secure a good working environment,
both physically and mentally
To secure that the external/outer
environment is not damaged
Your safety representative
Your safety representative is always ready to
answer questions or provide advice regarding
safety and work environment.
Do not hold back – it is very important to
eliminate any doubts, you may have.
This may concern the daily work situation,
suggestions for improvement of the safety,
alcohol problems or bullying of employees and
colleagues.
Should you see or experience an accident, a
near accident, lacks and deficiencies, or any
problems which should be dealt with, contact
your safety representative, foreman or safety
group. A violation of the safety rules may affect
your employment!
Remember, there are no dumb questions!

Alcohol and smoking
There are clear alcohol and smoking rules.
As an employee you are obliged to know
and observe these rules. The rules are
posted visibly in all departments and you
may receive these at any time.
Personal protective equipment
At any time, it falls on each individual
employee to use the personal protective
equipment required for the work and make
sure that this equipment is in sound
working order.
Mobile phones
It is not allowed to use mobile phones in
the paint workshops, unless they are
ATEX classified.
In general
You need to stay informed about the
location of fire-fighting equipment, eye
rinse, escape routes and emergency exits,
in case an evacuation of the building is
necessary.
In case of serious accidents, personal
injury, acute illness or fire, locate the
nearest phone and
CALL 112
State your name, address, the nature of
the accident and the number of injured.
Help is then on its way.
Workplace injury
Workplace injuries have a harmful impact
of a physical as well as mental nature. All
work injuries must be reported to The
Danish Working Environment Authority.
Help avoid workplace injuries!
Follow instructions and work
descriptions carefully
Maintain order and clean up. Many
accidents happen because of disorder
Do not operate unfamiliar equipment
See the location of the emergency stop
Always use the right protection gear
Use the proper lifting technique
Watch out for and observe signs
Examples of signposting

2. Prohibition (Round with red circle)
3. Warning (Yellow with triangular black frame)
4. Place reference (Square)
5. Danger (Often orange and black)
