80 EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS<br />

programme will be evaluated Sarrrples of academic regulations mark<strong>in</strong>g schemes<br />

and how exam<strong>in</strong>ations will be given are spelt out <strong>in</strong> a document to be made available<br />

to the students<br />

90 WELFARE FACILITIES<br />

91 Welfare facilities <strong>for</strong> both staff and students should be expanded to accommodate<br />

an <strong>in</strong>take of 60 students For students these <strong>in</strong>clude hostelarorrrmodation<br />

cafeteria health and other recreational facilities For teach<strong>in</strong>g staff these may <strong>in</strong>clude<br />

staff hous<strong>in</strong>g health and other recreational facilities<br />

10 POWER GAS AND WATER SUPPLY<br />

101 Regular power gas and water supply should be available <strong>for</strong> the laboratr ies<br />

workshops studio and other facilities <strong>for</strong> the new programme<br />

11 Adequate funds should be available <strong>for</strong> capital projects and recurrent expenditure<br />

<strong>for</strong> the programme Foy the first year of the programrlie there should be adequate<br />

consumables <strong>for</strong> students practicals For science and technology based rogram<br />

mes the recommended per capital fund<strong>in</strong>g <strong>for</strong> consumables range frorT about five<br />

hundred to one thousand naira N500 PE1000 per annum In both cases the per<br />

capita cost <strong>in</strong>cludes the cost of ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the various equipment <strong>in</strong> tfe workshops<br />

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL<br />

TO MOUNT A NEW PROGRAMME<br />

121 The <strong>in</strong>stitution may re submit <strong>for</strong>re<br />

consideration its application <strong>for</strong> approval to mount<br />

a new programme if it has corrected the deficiencies highlighted <strong>in</strong> an earlier report<br />

on the subject This dispensation applies to only programmes that have received<br />

resource<br />

<strong>in</strong>spection<br />

from the Board<br />

13 0 INITIAL ACCREDITATION VISITATION<br />

131 A <strong>for</strong>mal accreditation visit shall be cond rcted <strong>for</strong> the new prograrnrne <strong>in</strong> the third<br />

semester Prior to the visit the <strong>in</strong>stitution is required to complete and submit five<br />

copies of self study questionnaire <strong>NBTE</strong> PA1 <strong>in</strong> respect of the programme to the<br />

Executive Secretary <strong>NBTE</strong> PMB 239 Kaduna<br />
