Description: The technical, management, scientific, <strong>and</strong> creative skills necessary to bring clothing to<br />

millions of consumers in America are developed in this field of study, which explores the process of<br />

taking raw materials <strong>and</strong> bringing finished products to consumers through research <strong>and</strong> development,<br />

styling <strong>and</strong> design, production, <strong>and</strong> marketing. The program of study provides a broad liberal<br />

education with a focus on the diverse careers in textiles, apparel production, <strong>and</strong> fashion industries.<br />

<strong>Students</strong> receive specialized training in computerized sketching, pattern making, draping design,<br />

pattern grading, marker making, computer aided design, fashion show production <strong>and</strong> visual<br />

merch<strong>and</strong>ising. Instruction includes field experiences, internships, <strong>and</strong> study tours to the Atlanta <strong>and</strong><br />

New York fashion markets.<br />
