Record breaking number of
chemistry entries for SET awards
TWENTY UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
were entered by their university for the best
chemistry prize of the Science, Engineering and
Technology Student of the Year Awards (full list
is published below). The prize is judged by the
RSC and sponsored by Pfizer. This is the highest
ever chemistry total in the award’s six-years
history, and chemistry was second overall this
year in the 12 categories, which include physics
and biology.
The SET awards provide a showcase for
educational excellence by publicly recognising
the exceptional achievements of both students
and universities.
This year’s chemistry prize entrants are as

The winning student will be announced at
the presentation ceremony at the Guildhall,
London on 20 September. He or she will
receive a trophy and cheque for £500; the
overall winner gets up to £2,000.

involved with the Younger Members Network
