<strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong> Art Prize<br />

The works of finalists from nearly 500 entries in the <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong><br />

Art Prize (SCAP) will be on display at Noosa Regional Gallery and<br />

Caloundra Regional Gallery until 7 October.<br />

The <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong> Art Prize – with a total prize pool of more than $50,000 –<br />

is one of the richest regional art prizes in the country and has achieved<br />

national acclaim for its annual representation of contemporary Australian<br />

art. Local tertiary students exhibiting as emerging artists under the SCAP<br />

T3 program are eligible to win $3,000 in either two dimensional or three<br />

dimensional categories.<br />

The 2012 SCAP winners will be announced during gala events at Noosa<br />

Regional Gallery (3D) on 24 August at 6pm and Caloundra Regional Gallery<br />

(2D) on 31 August at 6pm.<br />

Sculpture<br />

residency<br />

Awarded biennially, the Noosa<br />

Stone Sculpture Bequest<br />

provides an opportunity for<br />

artists to travel to Carrara,<br />

Italy and for two months, work<br />

alongside an international<br />

community of sculptors.<br />

The winner also creates a<br />

permanent work for the Noosa<br />

Botanic Gardens. Entries<br />

Floating Land and TreeLine<br />

are just two of the green art<br />

programs that showcase and<br />

celebrate <strong>our</strong> environment using<br />

materials and processes that<br />

avoid an adverse environmental<br />

impact.<br />
