What does the Noosa and
hinterland area mean to you?
* The council-owned company, Noosa Biosphere Ltd, is
a unique community and local government partnership.
Noosa was awarded Biosphere
status from UNESCO in
2007 under its Man and
the Biosphere program.
Biosphere reserves are sites
that demonstrate innovative
approaches to conservation
and sustainable development.
Noosa Biosphere Ltd* in
partnership with the CSIRO, is
researching local communities’
sense of ‘place’ and attachment
to the region by asking people to
provide a short narrative about
one of their experiences.
The results will be analysed by
the CSIRO and shared to inform
community and local government
