Course Description<br />

The <strong>Multidiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary</strong> <strong>Update</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Breast</strong><br />

Disease course provides updates on<br />

benign and malignant breast diseases,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g evaluation, management and<br />

state of the art treatments.<br />

The Radioactive Seed workshop is<br />

designed to teach a new technique<br />

for the localization and surgical<br />

management of breast cancer.<br />

Learn<strong>in</strong>g Objectives<br />

Upon conclusion of this program,<br />

participants should be able to:<br />

• Develop an appropriate management<br />

plan for high-risk patients<br />

• Analyze the role of hormone therapy<br />

and other risk factors <strong>in</strong> the care of<br />

high-risk patients<br />

• Compare and contrast the cosmetic<br />

and reconstructive options <strong>in</strong> the<br />

care of breast disease patients<br />

• Recognize and address survivorship<br />

issues <strong>in</strong> the care of breast patients<br />

• Interpret current evidence to<br />

formulate the best medical, oncologic<br />

and surgical treatment options<br />

• Demonstrate effective cl<strong>in</strong>ical breast<br />

exam techniques<br />

not <strong>in</strong>dicate nor guarantee competence<br />

of any procedures which may be<br />

designed for primary care providers,<br />

mid-level providers, oncologists,<br />

radiologists, surgeons, obstetricians<br />

and gynecologists who treat patients<br />

with breast disease.<br />
