Course Description
The Multidisciplinary Update in Breast
Disease course provides updates on
benign and malignant breast diseases,
including evaluation, management and
state of the art treatments.
The Radioactive Seed workshop is
designed to teach a new technique
for the localization and surgical
management of breast cancer.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program,
participants should be able to:
• Develop an appropriate management
plan for high-risk patients
• Analyze the role of hormone therapy
and other risk factors in the care of
high-risk patients
• Compare and contrast the cosmetic
and reconstructive options in the
care of breast disease patients
• Recognize and address survivorship
issues in the care of breast patients
• Interpret current evidence to
formulate the best medical, oncologic
and surgical treatment options
• Demonstrate effective clinical breast
exam techniques

discussed or taught in this course.
Intended Audience
Multidisciplinary Update in Breast
Disease and the Seed Workshop are
designed for primary care providers,
mid-level providers, oncologists,
radiologists, surgeons, obstetricians
and gynecologists who treat patients
with breast disease.
Credit
College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic,
is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical
Education to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic,
designates this live activity for a
maximum of 22.75 AMA PRA Category
1 Credits (18.0 for the general
session, 4.75 for the workshop).
Physicians should claim only the credit
commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
Other Health Care Professionals
A certificate of attendance will
be provided to other health care
professionals for requesting credits
in accordance with state nursing
boards, specialty societies, or other
professional associations.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your participation in
this course, your registration fee,
less a $75 administrative fee, will be
refunded when written notification
is received by Mayo School of CPD
before October 24, 2012 (cme@mayo.
edu or fax#: 507-284-0532). No refunds
will be made on or after October 24,
2012. Canceled registrations are nontransferable.
