The Board of Education met in Special Session at the Board of Education Office on Thursday,
July 5, 2012 at 7:00 a.m.
Mrs. Cole, President of the Board, called the meeting to order.
Present:

Mrs. Cole; Mrs. Adamec; Mr. Mercurio; Mr. Richter.
Mrs. Staubach.
Others Present: Adrienne James, Superintendent; Beth Weber, Treasurer; Frank Forsthoefel,
Assistant Superintendent, and Tim Reilly, Legal Counsel, Taft, Stettinius &
Hollister LLP.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Mr. Mercurio moved, seconded by Mrs. Adamec to approve a contract with
Danyelle Julius to provide nursing services for student on an IEP for extended
school year summer program effective 7/10/12 – 8/9/12. Estimated cost is
$1,275.

Mrs. Adamec moved, seconded by Mr. Mercurio to approve a contract with
Cincinnati Center for Autism for educational program for student with a
disability being served on an IEP for extended school year summer program.
Estimated cost is $1,400.

c. Jennifer Ulland, dean of student life and math teacher at
Sycamore High School, resigning effective 7/31/12.
2. Change of status for the following individual as indicated:
a. Ning Zhang from 5/7 to full-time Chinese teacher at Sycamore
High School effective 2012-2013 school year.
3. Employment of the following individuals as indicated:
a. Monya Jones as assistant principal at Blue Ash and
Montgomery Elementary Schools at annual salary of $71,000
effective August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2014 per the terms
and conditions of her individual employment contract. This is
a replacement position.
b. Ashley Gleim as social studies teacher at Sycamore High
School on step 3 of the certificated salary schedule effective
2012-2013 school year. MA from Miami University. This is
a replacement position.

c. Jennifer Kolde as second grade teacher at Blue Ash
Elementary School on step 3 of the certificated salary
schedule effective 2012-2013 school year. BA from Xavier
University. This is a replacement position.
d. Amy Lichey as first grade teacher at Blue Ash Elementary
School on step 3 of the certificated salary schedule effective
2012-2013 school year. MA from Ohio State University.
This is a replacement position.
e. Mary John Niehaus as fourth grade teacher at Blue Ash
Elementary School on step 4 of the certificated salary
schedule effective 2012-2013 school year contingent on
receiving license. MA from University of Cincinnati. This is
a new position due to enrollment.
f. Nicholas Niehaus as 5/7 math teacher at Aves Academy on
step 0 of the certificated salary schedule effective 2012-2013
school year. BA from University of Cincinnati. This is a
replacement position.
g. Hailey Parnes as sixth grade teacher at Edwin H. Greene
Intermediate School on step 0 of the certificated salary
schedule effective 2012-2013 school year. MA from Xavier
University. This is a replacement position.
h. Emily Ponto as first grade teacher at Blue Ash Elementary
School on step 0 of the certificated salary schedule effective
2012-2013 school year. BS from Xavier University. This is a
replacement position.
i. Robert Stinson as 2/7 science teacher at Sycamore Junior
High School on step 0 of the certificated salary schedule
effective 2012-2013 school year. BS from Miami University.
This is a new position due to enrollment.
j. Tina Tidd as special education teacher at Symmes Elementary
School on step 4 of the certificated salary schedule effective
2012-2013 school year. BA from Miami University. This is
a replacement position.
k. John Turner as 6/7 Japanese teacher at Sycamore Junior High
and High Schools on step 3 of the certificated salary schedule
effective 2012-2013 school year contingent on receiving
license. MA from University of Massachusetts Boston. This
is a replacement position.

l. Tucker Skove as volleyball adult assistant coach for 2012
Community Education Summer Recreation program at the
rate of $15 per hour. The program is funded by Community
Education Summer Recreation fund.
m. Chase Walker as summer maintenance helper on step 1 at the
rate of $9.00 per hour effective 7/5/12.
n. The following individual to be employed as substitute
custodian on an as needed basis effective 7/6/12:
1. Steve Carey – Step 3
o. June Haverland to be paid the appropriate summer school
hourly rate of pay for provision of extended school
year/summer school supports effective 7/6/12.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 7:08 a.m., Mr. Richter moved, seconded by Mrs. Adamec to adjourn to

Employment/Regulated Individual, and ORC 121.22G4 – Negotiations.
