Porschefest

We had another great time at this year’s Porschefest. A
foggy start may have limited attendance to somewhat
fewer judged Porsches than last year, but 75
cars is nothing to be ashamed about. Our sponsor for the day,
Porsche of Norwell, made an all out effort displaying three
new Porsche models, offering free cold water to all, holding a
raffle for beach chairs and Porsche luggage, and offering many
cleaning products for sale from their dealership. Many thanks
to John Zeidens and his staff for their support.
Special guest and honorary judge was Vic Elford, rallyist and
racer for Porsche during the ‘60s and ‘70s, who presented a
special award to Rob Nudelman — a print of himself driving at
LeMans in a 917.
Judging kicked off with the help of Charlie Dow doing the
Park & Wipe class, this year concentrating on the engine cover.
Don Plant, Dave Melcher, Brian Laramee headed up a large
group of full concours judges, while Dave Weber did his usual
great job of scoring. Susana Weber not only provided the
beautiful posters for prizes but also was an integral part of
the compilation of the scores. Our editor, Adrianne Ross, took
pictures of all the trophy winners as well as other candid shots,
while our membership chair Ginny Young noted their names
for inclusion with the pictures in this issue.

pictures. In the Park & Wipe category early Speedsters took
the top two slots, led by Nick Orem in a ‘59 model, closely followed
by Meara Image in a ‘57 Speedster, then Matt Kouyounyw
in a newer ‘01 911 Turbo. Top only (non-Boxster/Cayman),
