SERVICE STANDARDS INFORMATION
1. The Copy Drawings Service is primarily intended for customers visiting Search Engine – the NRM Library and
Archive Centre. Orders sent through the post are supplied against the reference number indicated on the order
form. The best way to avoid errors is to make an appointment to visit Search Engine to examine the drawings in
person.
2. Prices are a flat rate of £20 for a full size paper copy. Alternatively you may wish to have the drawing scanned
as a TIFF file and saved to disk. This also costs £20 per drawing. For copies of drawings from the collections of:
Nasmyth Wilson, Peckett, North British and Swindon, a further £20 admin charge will apply. The format of these
drawings means that specialist copying is required which is more costly to produce. Occasionally this charge will
also need applying to damaged or delicate drawings that appear in other collections. We will inform you if this is
the case with your order.
3. Rolled drawings over 840mm width will need to be sent via courier. We are able to reduce the size of the
drawing to enable it to be sent via Royal Mail. However, if you would prefer to have the full size drawing we will
contact you to give you a quote (minimum £15) if your drawing is too large. It is not possible to tell from the
drawing lists whether or not your drawing will exceed the 840mm limit.
4. We offer a special rate of £30 per drawing for a full size paper copy and digital image.
5. Postage to addresses in the UK is 10% of the total order with a minimum charge of £2.50. Orders entirely on CD
will cost £2.50 per disk.
6. Postage to addresses outside the UK is 10% of the total order with a minimum charge of £6.50. Orders entirely
on CD will cost £4 per disk.
7. Drawings will be posted out folded inside an A4 envelope. Should you prefer your drawings to be rolled and sent
out in a poster tube, this will cost an extra £6.50. Please indicate your preference on the order form. Payment is
required in advance. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The National Railway Museum’.
8. For orders with a value of £100 or more will be sent Recorded Delivery.
9. Please send payment in advance. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The National Railway Museum’.
10. Payment is accepted by credit/debit cards with card numbers that begin with a 4 or a 5 only. Orders made by
post using this method should complete the form below.
11. Copies of drawings are normally despatched approximately one month of receiving the order and
payment.
12. Orders will not be processed or despatched unless the copyright declaration is completed and payment has
been received.
