There were 117 institutions directly under the CAS, with 97 research institutes (including three<br />
botanical gardens); five universities & supporting organizations (including two universities, one<br />
supporting organization, one documentation and information unit, and one publication unit); 12<br />
management organizations that consist <strong>of</strong> the headquarters and branches; and three other units. There<br />
were 26 legal entities affiliated. Moreover, there were 22 CAS invested holding enterprises.<br />
