Gymnasium Classes & Programs continued<br />

Scrapbooking Workshops for adults<br />

<strong>and</strong> teens, presented by Colette Thacker,<br />

gives both experienced <strong>and</strong> new scrapbookers<br />

a chance to organize photos <strong>and</strong> memorabilia<br />

into meaningful <strong>and</strong> long-lasting albums. Learn<br />

a variety <strong>of</strong> scrapbooking techniques. Workshops<br />

are Sundays from 10am to 6pm at a cost <strong>of</strong> $20. Preregistration<br />

Kids Cuisine class, instructed by Enid Weinraub, will<br />

teach the basics, such as microwave cooking <strong>and</strong><br />

how to make healthy snacks, international foods<br />

<strong>and</strong> traditional favorites. Ongoing four-week sessions<br />

are held on Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30pm at a cost <strong>of</strong><br />

$25. An additional supply fee <strong>of</strong> $10 is to be paid to<br />

the instructor during the first class.<br />

High Touch-High Tech After School Science<br />

Spectacular programs for children in kindergarten<br />

through 5th grade <strong>of</strong>fers totally h<strong>and</strong>s-on, totally<br />

participatory, <strong>and</strong> totally fun science experiments.<br />

Ongoing four-week sessions are held September to<br />

June on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm at a cost<br />

<strong>of</strong> $60. An additional supply fee <strong>of</strong> $15 is to be paid<br />

to the instructor during the first class.<br />

Playball will introduce<br />

boys <strong>and</strong> girls to the<br />

wonders <strong>of</strong> sports<br />

participation through<br />

an interactive class that<br />

introduces <strong>and</strong> improves<br />

ball h<strong>and</strong>ling skills, positive<br />

attitude <strong>and</strong> sportsmanship.<br />

Children participate in a variety<br />

<strong>of</strong> fun-filled games <strong>and</strong> activities<br />

to boost their confidence <strong>and</strong><br />

interest in sports. First-time<br />

participants will receive one free<br />

introductory class. Enrollment<br />

is limited, so register early.<br />

Ongoing monthly sessions are<br />

held Mondays from 3 to 4pm<br />

for ages 3 to 4; 4 to 5pm for<br />

ages 7 to 10; Thursdays from 3<br />

to 4pm or 4 to 5pm for ages 4 to<br />

6, at a cost <strong>of</strong> $55 per month.<br />

Sartory Senior Center<br />

Senior Center is located at 10150 NW 29 Street<br />

in Mullins Park. Take <strong>Coral</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> Drive to NW<br />

29 Street <strong>and</strong> go east. Enter Mullins Park on the<br />

south side <strong>of</strong> the street. Turn left at the stop sign.<br />

The Center is just east <strong>of</strong> the pool.<br />

Mullins Park<br />

The <strong>Coral</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> Senior Pride Bus Program<br />

provides transportation to local groceries <strong>and</strong><br />

malls for senior citizens. On Fridays, the group<br />

also goes on trips to local attractions at an<br />

additional cost. Any <strong>Coral</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> senior age 55<br />

or older can join this service as long as they are<br />

able to board the bus without assistance <strong>and</strong><br />

carry their own packages. The annual fee is $20.<br />

Kidokinetics is an exciting <strong>and</strong> unique program<br />

developed to provide boys <strong>and</strong> girls with an alternative<br />

way to improve <strong>and</strong> enhance their fitness. This<br />

fun-filled class includes activities that develop motor<br />

skills, physical fitness <strong>and</strong> improve self-confidence.<br />

Kidokinetics focuses on individual achievements in<br />

a non-competitive environment. Activities include<br />

basketball, soccer, hockey, tennis, t-ball, hula-hoops,<br />

bean bags, golf, volleyball <strong>and</strong> more. Ongoing sessions<br />

are held September to May at the <strong>Coral</strong> <strong>Springs</strong><br />

Gymnasium on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30pm for<br />

ages 3 to 10. Prices vary depending on the length <strong>of</strong><br />
