Mad Science Camps Mad Science Camp Location: Sawgrass Springs Middle School 12500 West Sample Road Moving with Science June 4 to 8 • Cost: $250 • Ages: 6 to 12 Monday to Friday • 8:30am to 3:30pm Moving with Science is a hands-on experience that introduces participants to the science all around them. Campers will have a chance to investigate the simple machines, chemistry, biology, light and photography, and elements of structure building. Red-Hot Robots June 11 to 15 • Cost: $240 • Supply fee: $25 Ages 7 to 12 • Monday to Friday • 8:30am to 3:30pm Immerse your child in robotics this summer during the Red-Hot Robots camp. Children will experiment with different robot designs, explore differences between humans and robots, and even create their own robot to take home. NASA: Journey into Outer Space June 25 to 29 • Cost: $140 • Ages: 6 to 12 Supply NASA Kit fee: $15 Monday to Friday • 9am to noon Take advantage of the NASA: Journey into Outer Space summer camp as it makes its way to South Florida for the first time. Budding astronauts will learn the four forces of flight, examine the challenges of space travel, and participate in a real rocket launch. Mad Science Exploration Engineering Camp June 25 to 29 • Ages 6 to 12 Cost: $145 (Mad Science Exploration Engineering Camp only); $240 (Journey into Outer Space & Mad Science Exploration Engineering Camp) Supply NASA Kit fee: $15 Monday to Friday • 12:30 to 3:30pm Engineers bring concepts to life, and camp participants will examine the many ways in which they do that. Students will learn the differences between physical and chemical reactions; fundamentals of electricity, force and pressure; and basic terms relating to engineering and architecture. High Touch • High Tech Science Camp High Touch • High Tech Science Camp Four Weekly Sessions: $250/child $15 supply fee Monday to Friday • 9am to 3pm Camp Location: Betti Stradling Park Corner of Wiles Road and Coral Springs Drive For campers entering K-5th grade, this program stimulates the imagination and curiosity for science and nature in a totally hands-on, totally participatory, and totally fun manner. Campers should bring their own lunch and water bottle. Snack provided! Session I: June 4 to 8: Crazy Chemical Concoctions – Make all kinds of icky sticky stuff to keep. Watch chemicals bubble up and change color and more. Session II: June 11 to 15: Amazing Animals – Learn about all sorts of animals and their habitats. Make many different animal habitats and take home your own insect! Session III: June 18 to 22: Exciting Earth – Explore the exciting earth inside and out. Make volcanoes, tornadoes, pan for gems and keep what you find! Session IV: June 25 to 29: Wacky Water Adventures – Learn about rainbows, light and water. Cheer, Dance & Theater Camps Gymnastics and Cheerleading Summer Camp by Joy Deco Children will learn and perfect tumbling skills such as special rolls, cartwheels, handstands, roundoffs and learn the safe and correct way to perform gymnastic routines. Cheers, Chants and Pom Pom routines will be learned to perfect rhythm and coordination. We build self confidence while having fun. Aerobic warm-ups, Arts & Crafts, pizza parties, fitness games, water days and special guests will also be part of this exciting fitness camp. Opportunities will be offered for the children to perform. All campers must bring drinks, snacks and lunches. This camp is open to boys and girls entering 1st grade to 6th grade in September 2007. Atlantic Blvd. June 11 to July 6 July 9 to August 3 Registration Information Register for Cheer, Dance & Theater Camps from 8am to 9pm at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, 2501 Coral Springs Drive. 2007 Hip Hop Dance Camps Beat Street Hip Hop camps will cover hip hop steps, dances and audition routines, plus camp will stress audition tips on facial expressions, hip hop attitude, and a unique hip hop performance style. Dancers will enjoy special dance demonstrations. Dancers must have knee pads and sneakers. Hair should be pulled back and jewelry should not be worn. Send snacks, drinks and lunches with the dancers.
