g. AD Category -I banks shall satisfy themselves as to the b<strong>on</strong>afides <strong>of</strong> the transacti<strong>on</strong>s<br />
<strong>and</strong> ensure that the purpose codes reported to the Reserve Bank in the <strong>on</strong>line payment<br />
gateways are appropriate.<br />
h. AD Category -I banks shall submit all the relevant informati<strong>on</strong> relating to any<br />
transacti<strong>on</strong> under this arrangement to the Reserve Bank, as <strong>and</strong> when advised to do so.<br />
i. Each NOSTRO collecti<strong>on</strong> account should be subject to rec<strong>on</strong>ciliati<strong>on</strong> <strong>and</strong> audit <strong>on</strong> a<br />
quarterly basis.<br />
j. Resoluti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> all payment related complaints <strong>of</strong> exporters in India shall remain the<br />
resp<strong>on</strong>sibility <strong>of</strong> the OPGSP c<strong>on</strong>cerned.<br />
k. OPGSPs who are already providing such services as per the specific holding-<strong>on</strong><br />
approvals issued by the Reserve Bank shall open a liais<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice in India within three<br />
m<strong>on</strong>ths from November 16, 2010, after duly finalizing their arrangement with the AD-<br />
Category-I banks <strong>and</strong> obtaining approval from the Reserve Bank for this purpose. In<br />
respect <strong>of</strong> all new arrangements, the OPGSP shall open a liais<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice with the<br />
approval <strong>of</strong> the Reserve Bank before operati<strong>on</strong>alizing the arrangement. AD Category-I<br />
banks desirous <strong>of</strong> entering into such an arrangement/s should approach the Reserve<br />
Bank for obtaining <strong>on</strong>e time permissi<strong>on</strong> in this regard <strong>and</strong> thereafter report the details <strong>of</strong><br />
each such arrangement as <strong>and</strong> when entered into.<br />
(iv) Settlement system under ACU Mechanism<br />
a) In order to facilitate transacti<strong>on</strong>s / settlements, effective January 01, 2009,<br />
participants in the Asian Clearing Uni<strong>on</strong> will have the opti<strong>on</strong> to settle their transacti<strong>on</strong>s<br />
either in ACU Dollar or in ACU Euro. Accordingly, the Asian M<strong>on</strong>etary Unit (AMU)<br />
shall be denominated as 'ACU Dollar' <strong>and</strong> 'ACU Euro' which shall be equivalent in<br />
value to <strong>on</strong>e US Dollar <strong>and</strong> <strong>on</strong>e Euro, respectively.<br />
b) Further, AD Category – I banks are allowed to open <strong>and</strong> maintain ACU Dollar <strong>and</strong><br />
ACU Euro accounts with their corresp<strong>on</strong>dent banks in other participating countries. All<br />
eligible payments are required to be settled by the c<strong>on</strong>cerned banks through these<br />
accounts.<br />
c) Relaxati<strong>on</strong> from ACU Mechanism- Indo-Myanmar Trade - Trade transacti<strong>on</strong>s with<br />
Myanmar can be settled in any freely c<strong>on</strong>vertible currency in additi<strong>on</strong> to the ACU<br />
mechanism.<br />
d) In view <strong>of</strong> the difficulties being experienced by importers/exporters in payments to /<br />
receipts from Iran, it has been decided that with effect from December 27, 2010, all<br />
eligible current account transacti<strong>on</strong>s including trade transacti<strong>on</strong>s with Iran should be<br />
settled in any permitted currency outside the ACU mechanism, until further notice.<br />
(v) Third party payments for export / import transacti<strong>on</strong>s<br />
With a view to further liberalizing the procedure relating to payments for<br />
exports/imports <strong>and</strong> taking into account evolving internati<strong>on</strong>al trade practices, it has<br />
been decided to permit third party payments for export / import transacti<strong>on</strong>s subject to<br />
c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s as under:
