AVAILABILITY OF HUMAN CATARACTS FOR INVESTI-<br />
GATIVE STUDY UNDER THE COOPERATIVE CATARACT<br />
RESEARCH GROUP (CCRG) PROGRAM—A supply of<br />
intracapsular extracted cataracts from India are available.<br />
These cataracts are stored frozen and some are classified<br />
according to the CCRG protocol. A charge for shipment from<br />
Oakland University to the investigator's laboratory will be<br />
made. Those interested in obtaining these cataracts should<br />
contact Dr. Venkat Reddy, Eye Research Institute, Oakland<br />
University, Rochester, Ml 48063. Please provide the<br />
number of cataracts needed and a short description of the<br />
proposed study. A CCRG committee will decide on the<br />
distribution of these cataracts.<br />

RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP Francis I. Proctor Foundation,<br />
University of California, San Francisco The Francis<br />
I Proctor Foundation for Research in <strong>Ophthalmology</strong> conducts<br />
a one to two year training program in ocular inflammatory<br />
and infectious diseases for Board qualified<br />
ophthalmologists and postdoctoral scientists. The fields of<br />
study in the Foundation include microbiology and pathogenesis<br />
of chlamydial, bacterial and viral (particularly herpes<br />
simplex) eye infections, ocular immunology, and cell biology.<br />
Research support for U.S. citizens is available through an<br />
NIH departmental training grant or through individual applications<br />
to the NIH and other agencies. Applicants from<br />
outside the US are also encouraged to apply. Applications for<br />
July 1989 fellowships will be accepted until March 31,1988.<br />
