Are you tired of working for IT and other professional companies? Do you
want to join a project that aims at making India IT literate through
technology? Do you want to contribute to or learn from a project that aims
to bridge the digital divide? If so, join the Spoken Tutorials project.
Spoken Tutorials are a proven method to impart IT literacy through a self
learning mode. The 21 minute spoken tutorial available at
http://spoken-tutorial.org/what_is_a_spoken_tutorial explains the spoken
tutorial technology.
We have several openings for this project: project manager, technology
developers, system administrators, computer programmers, script writers
and people who have experience in audio-video recording. We are also
looking for people who can create spoken tutorials on open source software.
For all the posts mentioned below, people with lower qualification or lower
experience may be considered for a lower position with a lower salary. We
can also accommodate people who can work remotely or part time. It is
possible to participate in this project through the delivery based approach
also.
In all the posts announced here, preference will be given to people who
create and submit a ten minute spoken tutorial at the time of interview.
Our staff members will be happy to assist you in creating a spoken tutorial.

We hope to create 10,000 spoken tutorials of ten minute duration and dub
them into 20 Indian languages. This will cover a few hundred FOSS
systems.

Positions of Research Assistant (RA1), System Administrator (SA), Editorial Assistant (EA),
Programmer (PRG), Project Manager (PM1), Video Editor (VE), Executive Officer (EO),
Project Manager (Technical) (PMT) are available in the following projects.

PM1: (2 Post) Eligibility : MBA/M.Tech/Ph.D with a minimum of 5 years of

elevant experience.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.30000 to 45000/- p.m.
Job Profile : The tasks are promotion of spoken tutorials and coordination
of the junior staff members of the project.
PMT: (2 Post) Eligibility : Ph.D with three years of relevant experience or
M.E./M.Tech with five years of relevant experience or MCA/MSc/BE/B.Tech
with 10 years of relevant experience.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.30000 to 45000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Should have experience in one or more of the following FOSS
based technologies: Linux, Drupal, Codec, HTML5. Preference will be given
to people who have managed software development teams for at least two
years.
SA: (2 Post) Eligibility : B.Tech/BE/MCA/any other Master
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.17000 to 25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Should be able to manage linux systems and our web pages,
which are essentially based on Drupal.
PRG: (4 Post) Eligibility : B.Tech/BE/MCA/any other Master
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.17000 to 25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : The duties are development of computer applications through
FOSS tools or development of scripts.
EO: (3 Post) Eligibility : Any Master
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.17000 to 25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : The main task will be to promote spoken tutorials as a product.
RA1: (3 Post) Eligibility : Any Bachelor
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.13000 to 25000/- p.m.
Job Profile : Instruction design

Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.11000 to 25000/- p.m.

The positions are temporary initially for a period of one year and tenable only for the
duration of project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and
lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate
