2. The DPC has been conducted on the basis of general seniority of eligible
officials and without any element of reservation in pursuance to the verdict of the
Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court rendered in CWP NO. 13218 of 2009 (O&M)
dated 15.07.2011 and other connected CWPs in the case of Lachhmi Narain Gupta
and other Vs. Jarnail Singh & Others and is subject to the final decision of
CBDT/DOPT in the matter of reservation in promotion. Also the DPC is subject to
final adjudication on this issue, if any, by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
3. They will be on probation for a period of two years.
4. The officials are required to exercise their options within one month of the
date of promotion in terms of Deptt. of Personnel and Administration Reforms O. M.
No. 7/1/80-Estt. P-I dated 26.09.1981 whether:-
(a) Their initial pay be fixed on higher position on the basis of FR-22(1)(a)(i)
straightway without any further review on accrual of increment in the pay
scale of the lower post. Or
(b) Their pay on promotion be fixed initially in the manner as provided under FR-
22(1)(a)(i) which may be re fixed on the basis of the provisions of FR-
22(1)(a)(i) on the date of accrual of next increment in the scale of the pay of
the lower post.
5. Their pay would be fixed, accordingly.
