2.1.3.1 Types<br />
There will be three PHY types :<br />
• Frequency Hop Spread Spectrum in 2.4GHz band<br />
• Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum in 2.4GHz band<br />

2.1.3.2 Sub Layers<br />
There are two sub-layers in PHY :<br />
• PLCP Sub-layer: The MAC layer communicates with the Physical Layer Convergence<br />
Protocol (PLCP) sub-layer via primitives (a set <strong>of</strong> instructive commands or<br />
fundamental instructions) through a service access point (SAP). When the MAC<br />
layer instructs it to do so, the PLCP prepares MAC protocol data units (MPDUs)<br />
