<strong>Harter</strong> Shapes – Construction Details<br />
Table Tops/Bamboo Veneer<br />
Construction: The tops feature vertical (narrow) grain bamboo<br />
veneer on a 100% recycled substrate with 1/8” solid bamboo<br />
edging. The vertical grain construction is achieved by laminating<br />
bamboo strips together with edges exposed as the wear<br />
surface to form a solid bamboo plank with no internal voids.<br />
Vertical grain bamboo has minimal pattern, with no visible<br />
nodes.<br />
Caramelized Bamboo is offered as the clear/natural finish in<br />
conjunction with seven of <strong>Harter</strong>’s standard stain finishes.<br />
Caramelized Bamboo is produced by pressure-heating bamboo<br />
slats to “brown” the sugar compounds naturally present in<br />
the plant, yielding the warm, amber Caramelized color without<br />
using stains or dyes.<br />

Bamboo Bamboo is a rapidly renewable product —<br />
a natural resource that replenishes itself by<br />
natural processes very quickly, at least as<br />
quickly as it is used by human enterprise. The<br />
bamboo plant is considered rapidly renewable<br />
because, when harvested sustainably,<br />
the plant re-grows from the same root stalk,<br />
maturing in just a few years. By comparison,<br />
oak and maple trees take decades to grow,<br />
are incapable of re-growing from the same<br />
plant, and can be harvested only once.<br />
