A Near Year… A New Beginning
Our first annual holiday tree festival open house event was held on December
23, 2010. Guests enjoyed holiday treats and a festive atmosphere
as they viewed the beautifully decorated trees. Community businesses and
individuals sponsored trees and helped Janus raise funds for services and
programs. Thanks to all our sponsors: Hare Chevrolet, Randall and Roberts
Funeral Home, Box, Pack and Ship, Hamilton County Co-op, Key Bank,
Promethius Consulting, Hayes O’Brien, Gordon Homes, First Merchants Bank
and Regions Insurance. Thanks to Piney Acres Farm for donating the wonderful
Christmas Trees.
Ask Event – Create,
Connect and Commit!
On Friday, March 25, 2011, we presented our third annual
ASK event to the public at the Ritz-Charles in Carmel. Over
100 community leaders, professionals businesses and citizens
helped celebrate the work of Janus. The event focused on
the individuals participating in the services provided by Janus.
Heart warming testimonials from consumers were shared
along with a special musical presentation from two consumers.
In addition, the “Janus story” was presented. We were
able to raise $19,000 and we were able to increase awareness
of Janus and the services provided to the community.
This event is truly a dynamic presentation highlighting the
impact we make in the lives of the individuals we serve.
Volunteer Day
On May 24, 2011, Janus hosted a Community Volunteer Day. Employees
from Duke Energy and Key Bank worked on various projects including painting,
cleaning and outdoor work. Members of the Hamilton County Master
Gardener organization assisted that day and continue to assist with our
outdoor garden project and the new indoor grow lab.
