<strong>JCPS</strong> <strong>students</strong> <strong>earn</strong> <strong>national</strong> <strong>art</strong> <strong>awards</strong><br />
Students throughout the district <strong>earn</strong>ed Gold and Silver Medals in the National Scholastic<br />
Art Awards, the most prestigious visual <strong>art</strong> competition for middle and high school<br />
<strong>students</strong>.<br />
The following <strong>JCPS</strong> <strong>students</strong> <strong>earn</strong>ed a Gold Medal:<br />
• Sommer Cade (Jeffersontown High), Category: Drawing<br />
• Claire Dozer (Highland Middle), Category: Ceramics<br />
• Trevor Gibson (Pleasure Ridge Park High), Category: Design<br />
• Simon Maness (Atherton High), Category: Drawing<br />
• Jerry Smith (duPont Manual High), Category: Drawing<br />
• Bowen Sung (duPont Manual High), Category: Drawing<br />
Eastern High student Alana Keith <strong>earn</strong>ed a $1,000 New York Life Scholarship in the<br />
Photography category. This scholarship is awarded to only six <strong>students</strong>.<br />
