Haiti has a pristine and
natural beauty. From natural saltwater
lakes, to mountain ranges, plateaus,
plains, water falls, beaches, national
parks, and historical museums. Haiti
has it all! Haiti is usually referred to
as the poorest nation in the western
hemisphere. People have called the
country may names (some of which
are uncouth and insulting) and
sometimes some of those claims are
cpics true. Haitian’s are proud of their culture, traditions and their heritage. Tens of thousands
of Haitians have been living in the country for so long.
You definitely have to visit this beautiful country yourself or hear the true story
from someone who has not only visited the country, but has been there for some time, to
really know the good things about the country. That way you will be able to contrast
everything you have been hearing with what you see.
When you are in Haiti, you will find things that are interesting and meaningful,
such as the humble and respectful people. It is very hard to find bad things to say about the
Haitian culture because we have such a
genuine passion for art and our
tradition. Our culture and traditions can
be misunderstood sometimes, but they
are UNIQUE to us. There are a lot of
wonderful and magnificent things to
experience and lot of historical places
to visit. The beauty of Haiti may fade,
but will never die because it lives in our hearts forever, and despite poverty and
political issues, the country remains one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean.
Our culture, tradition and our heritage such as the art, the music and poetry remains our
treasure for life.
It is impossible for me to describe my
sentiment toward the condition I’m in when I look at the beautiful mountain ranges, walk on the beach
and look at the waves floating back and forth, swim in the river after a long day of playing soccer, rest
under the mango tree to eat mangos, take a nap under the palm tree and feel the fresh air of its leaves.
These are the souvenirs I Haiti, a place where you can relax and be comfortable, and a place where you
will be able to look at the landscape and the view and say how magnificent.
Haiti is rich in African, French, Creole and American traditions. The music has different
aspects: there is the Racine Festival, which consists of a
drum, trumpet, guitar, and some other instruments.
There is the Carnival, which is the biggest festival of
the year, it usually takes place between February 3 rd and
March 9 th . The duration of the carnival varies according
to national and local traditions. Haiti has so many
beautiful places you can visit and have a good time.
There are so many forts and historical places you can
visit. For instance, you could cisit Citadelle Laferriere,
Fort-Liberte and so many others.
Haitians are so proud of our heritage,
our culture and our traditions. Despite the
struggles we have faced and the obstacles we are
facing, we believe that we can get through these
difficult days with support, courage and solidarity in ties of desolation and despair. Haitians
believe that with unity, we can be strong – we can prevail. Haiti has so many wonderful things
to offer, such as wonderful arts, food and music.
Being Haitian is one of the greatest things that happened to me because I have a chance
to be part of these wonderful people, culture and traditions. I have the chance to call my land the
first black republic in the entire world. Life in Haiti might be very hard but that does not
diminish the pride that we have in our heritage, which our ancestors fought for with dignity,
courage and selflessness.
