$9000 TWICE<br />

A wonderful crowd of <strong>Jersey</strong> enthusiasts were at<br />

Mooroopna on Wednesday 31st March for the 1st<br />

stage dispersal sale of the Warrawee Park <strong>Jersey</strong><br />

herd of the Hicks family.<br />

Sale top of $9300 was paid for Warrawee Park<br />

Mermaid 17th EX91, this rising 6 year old Kody<br />

daughter sold close to calving to Sultan, and had<br />

PI to 127, she was purchased by Jason Hayes of<br />

Hazelvale <strong>Jersey</strong>s, Invergordon.<br />

Next top of $9000 was paid for Warrawee Park Carol<br />

10, this very stylish Deerview Performer daughter from<br />

a Perimeter dam was purchased by the Glenbrae<br />

<strong>Jersey</strong> Stud of J, G & O Carson of Irrewillippe.<br />

Warrawee Park Biestars Golly 2 (ET) EX 92 a full sister to<br />

the 2006 IDW Champion sold for $4750 to D Smith of<br />

Tatara <strong>Jersey</strong>s. Another member of the same family<br />

Fusions Goldy 2 sold at $4200 to C Baulch of Simpson.<br />

Other noted sales include Jace Princess 2 at $3900<br />

to Jakiah <strong>Jersey</strong>s of Nalangil, these buyers also<br />

purchased Warrawee Park Love Lies 31 a super dairy<br />

cow at $3600. The well known Craigielea Stud paid<br />

$3800 for Perrys Viscountess EX90. She was one of<br />

many good daughters of Lara Brook Perry sold.<br />

Top selling heifers were Warrawee Park Ilgay 29 a<br />

Lara Jace Pinnacle backed by 4 generations of EX<br />

dams at $3500 selling to Dan Barling of Simpson and<br />

Warrawee Park Miss Velvet 39 a Jace daughter at<br />

$3100 to S Whitten of Tamworth NSW.<br />

Hard to get Semen was in strong demand with<br />

Cleavedale Othello at $610 each for 19 straws,<br />

Shamrock Grove Gemini at $425 per straw, Lester<br />

Sambo $250, Lester $200 per straw.<br />

Selling Agents Dairy Livestock Services report buyers<br />

came from all parts of Victoria and as far as north as<br />

Tamworth NSW.<br />

<strong>2010</strong> TRADE MISSION TO USA &<br />

CANADA<br />

<strong>Jersey</strong> Australia is seeking ‘Expressions of Interest’<br />

from its members to join the <strong>2010</strong> Trade Mission to<br />

USA &Canada.<br />

The Trade Mission will enable <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong><br />

Genetics to be promoted at the All American<br />

<strong>Jersey</strong> Show and Sales at Louisville Kentucky<br />

6th -8th November as well as at the Canadian<br />

Royal Autumn Winter Fair 10th -13th November<br />

plus a number of high profile <strong>Jersey</strong> herds which<br />

allows the Trade Mission to take advantage of an<br />

international audience that will include breeders<br />

from all major dairying countries.<br />

Trade Mission will begin November 3rd <strong>2010</strong> and<br />

conclude with herd visits in Canada Tuesday 16th<br />

<strong>2010</strong> AGM Notice<br />

Invites all <strong>Jersey</strong> Breeding Enthusiasts to attend<br />

the <strong>2010</strong> Annual General Meeting which is to be<br />

held in Atlantis Convention Centre, 300 Spencer<br />

St Melbourne Friday 4th June <strong>2010</strong>.<br />

The AGM is part of an exciting two day city event<br />

that takes in Tram Restaurant dinner Thursday 3rd<br />

June starting at 5.45pm – 7.30pm. Socialites will<br />

have plenty of options for a free evening which<br />

include Casino, Bars or even a movie.<br />

The AGM takes place at Alantis Hotel & Conference<br />

Center Spencer St Melbourne at 10.00am Friday<br />

4th June. After the official meeting members can<br />

chose to take part in the social options such as<br />

Melbourne Aquarium, Melbourne Zoo, Shopping<br />

DFO then join the committee at the <strong>2010</strong> Football<br />

season clash between Richmond & St Kilda at<br />
