<strong>Clinical</strong> <strong>Pastoral</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Supervisors<br />

Rabbi Mollie Cantor is a supervisory education resident at JTS. Until 2010 she served as the<br />

pediatric chaplain at the Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she<br />

was a member of the pediatric palliative care team, providing spiritual care to patients and<br />

families of all religious and cultural backgrounds. Previously, she served as chaplain at<br />

Calvary Hospital, which specializes in pain and palliative care for people with advanced<br />

cancers. Rabbi Cantor was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-<strong>Jewish</strong> Institute of Religion<br />

and completed her chaplaincy training at the Healthcare Chaplaincy in New York.<br />

Rabbi Mychal B. Springer is director of the Center for <strong>Pastoral</strong> <strong>Education</strong> and the Helen Fried<br />

Kirshblum Goldstein Chair in Professional and <strong>Pastoral</strong> Skills at JTS. She earned her BA from<br />

Yale College (1987) and was ordained and earned a master's degree in Judaic Studies at<br />

JTS (1992). Rabbi Springer is a certified supervisor in the ACPE and a certified <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

chaplain. She has experience supervising <strong>Jewish</strong>, Protestant, Catholic, Episcopalian,<br />

Buddhist, and Muslim clergy, chaplains, and students.<br />

Tuition and Academic Credit<br />

• CPE tuition for the summer unit is $750.<br />

• Thanks to the generosity of UJA-Federation of New York, participants will receive a<br />

$2,500 stipend for tuition and living expenses.<br />

• Students at JTS earn academic credit for the unit of CPE by registering for PAS<br />

7431/7432, the Kaplan <strong>Pastoral</strong> Internship <strong>Program</strong>.<br />

followed by an interview with a hospice site supervisor.<br />
