Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisors
Rabbi Mollie Cantor is a supervisory education resident at JTS. Until 2010 she served as the
pediatric chaplain at the Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she
was a member of the pediatric palliative care team, providing spiritual care to patients and
families of all religious and cultural backgrounds. Previously, she served as chaplain at
Calvary Hospital, which specializes in pain and palliative care for people with advanced
cancers. Rabbi Cantor was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion
and completed her chaplaincy training at the Healthcare Chaplaincy in New York.
Rabbi Mychal B. Springer is director of the Center for Pastoral Education and the Helen Fried
Kirshblum Goldstein Chair in Professional and Pastoral Skills at JTS. She earned her BA from
Yale College (1987) and was ordained and earned a master's degree in Judaic Studies at
JTS (1992). Rabbi Springer is a certified supervisor in the ACPE and a certified Jewish
chaplain. She has experience supervising Jewish, Protestant, Catholic, Episcopalian,
Buddhist, and Muslim clergy, chaplains, and students.
Tuition and Academic Credit
• CPE tuition for the summer unit is $750.
• Thanks to the generosity of UJA-Federation of New York, participants will receive a
$2,500 stipend for tuition and living expenses.
• Students at JTS earn academic credit for the unit of CPE by registering for PAS
7431/7432, the Kaplan Pastoral Internship Program.

• Qualified applicants will be interviewed by Rabbi Cantor, supervisory education resident,
followed by an interview with a hospice site supervisor.
