An experienced Ophthalmic <strong>Surgeon</strong>, Mr. <strong>Teenan</strong> has performed more than 15,000 procedures including<br />

LASIK and LASEK, with specialist interests in cataract and refractive surgery, cornea and external<br />

diseases. He is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Ireland Medical Council (IMC).<br />

Mr. <strong>Teenan</strong> is a fully trained Ophthalmologist who has undergone additional specialist training in refractive<br />

surgery and is a full time Ophthalmic <strong>Surgeon</strong> with <strong>Optical</strong> <strong>Express</strong>. He is an active member of various<br />

affiliated bodies and societies such as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Irish College of<br />

Ophthalmology. Twice every year, Mr. <strong>Teenan</strong> attends International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB)<br />

Conferences and is annually assessed by this board. The panel consists of several of the world's most<br />

eminent Refractive <strong>Surgeon</strong>s including Mr. Steve Schallhorn, former Head of Ophthalmology for the US<br />

Navy and Professor Jan Venter, a world leading Ophthalmic <strong>Surgeon</strong>.<br />

Mr. <strong>Teenan</strong> graduated from the University of Dundee in 1992 before returning to Glasgow to start his<br />

medical career. His first ophthalmology post was at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and from there he moved<br />

to Ayrshire to complete his basic surgical training. He then completed his higher surgical training in Wales<br />

before returning to Glasgow for a Corneal and External Diseases Fellowship at Gartnaval General Hospital.<br />

Following completion of his training Mr. <strong>Teenan</strong> worked as a consultant Ophthalmologist in Glasgow,<br />

Cardiff and Ayrshire and is also an examiner for the Royal College of <strong>Surgeon</strong>s.<br />

His dedication to his profession and patients is evident from his clinical experience and continued<br />

attendance at seminars and conferences as both speaker and delegate.<br />
