MAINTENANCE<br />

Adjusting the Mower Deck<br />

WARNING!<br />

Before performing any service or adjustment checklist:<br />

1. Engage the parking brake.<br />

2. Place the Blade switch in the disengaged position.<br />

3. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and remove the key.<br />

4. Make sure the blades and all moving parts have c<strong>om</strong>pletely stopped.<br />

5. Disconnect the spark plug wire fr<strong>om</strong> all spark plugs and place the wire where it <strong>ca</strong>nnot<br />

c<strong>om</strong>e in contact with the plug.<br />

WARNING!<br />

Blades are sharp. Protect your hands<br />

with gloves and/or wrap blades with a<br />

heavy cloth when handling.<br />

Check the tire pressure before adjustment of the<br />

mower deck. See Checking Tire Pressure in<br />

Maintenance. Faulty mower deck adjustments will<br />

<strong>ca</strong>use an uneven mowing result.<br />

Leveling Deck<br />

1. Position the mower on a level, preferably<br />

concrete, surface.<br />

2. Check the pressure in all four tires. See Techni<strong>ca</strong>l<br />

Data section.<br />

3. Rotate blade to align side to side.<br />

4. Turn front adjuster nut(s) to level deck side to<br />

side.<br />

IMPORTANT INFORMATION<br />

This procedure will place the mower in a base<br />

measurement position. Additional adjustment<br />

may be required to achieve desired cut for the<br />

type of grass or conditions involved.<br />
