A vegetated roof is now installed and functioning on the pedestrian pergola at
the West Pymble Shops, Phillip Mall. The covered walkway is an area of ten
metres by 3 metres and consists of vegetation which requires little
maintenance whilst enduring the extreme harsh conditions. (reflected heat
from surrounding roof surfaces)
Plant species include grasses- Kangaroo Grass Themeda Australis and
Wallaby grass Danthonia sp. and flowering herbs-native daisy Brachycome sp
and Fan flower Scoevola sp.
Captured storm water is recycled to irrigate the garden.
