Are you carrying a Form #100
right now? That’s the question
being asked to every Knight
during the February portion of the
“Experience of a Lifetime” Action
Plan. The Membership Document
(#100) is one item (along with a willing
recruiter) that is absolutely vital to the
recruitment of any new member into
our Order. Your council’s members
should not leave home without it.
Order copies of the Form (#100)
from the Supply Department and then
distribute them to all members of your
council. Ask each Knight to always
carry a form #100 on him in his wallet.
Also, recommend that each member
keep a copy in the glove compartment
of his vehicle and in his briefcase.
Consider periodically have a
“Form #100 Check” at council meetings
to see if members have the document
on them. Collect one dollar from
each member who does not have a
Form #100. Use those funds to support
a council charity or a council
social function.
Instruct your recruiters to ask
prospects to complete the form in
neat, legible printing (or to assist the
prospects in filling out the information
if necessary). Review the form’s
sections with your members to make
sure that they understand what information
is required.
Sections 1 and 2 include personal
information from the potential member.
Bella filmmakers create Order’s 2007 ‘Help
a Child in Need’ Christmas message
Eduardo Verástegui, lead actor of the
hit movie Bella and a Knight, sits in
a diner booth on set in the filming of
the 2007 Knights of Columbus “help
a Child in Need” Christmas message.
week before Christmas.
The message reminds viewers of
the many special
needs of children,
especially during
the Christmas season,
and invites
them to visit the
Knights of
Columbus Web site
(www.kofc.org) for a
list of children’s
charities, submitted
by state councils
throughout the
United States and
Canada, that assist
children. The message,
which features
a restaurant patron
offering meal to a hungry youngster,
may also be seen on the Web site.

‘The Family That Prays Together Stays Together’
This is the famous quote of
Father Patrick Phyton, “the
Rosary priest.” As he suggests,
praying as a family is an underlining
quality of faithful families.
Participating in prayer together as a
family strengthens the bonds of trust,
honesty and love within all members.
It opens your family up to the gifts
and graces of the Lord, and separates
your family from today’s fast-paced
world.
The time spent praying together
as a family is a great way to stay connected
and in each other’s lives. As
children get older and their lives
become more focused on outside
activities, and as parents become
engrossed with hectic schedules, taking
the time to pray as a family keeps
it grounded in the two most important
aspects in life — faith and family.
Prayer in the household can easily
lead your family to other worthwhile
activities that you can share
with one another. Here are a few
ideas:
Go to Mass together, even if your
family has older children. Gather
everyone (including if possible

grandparents and other extended
family members) together once a
week at Mass.
Pray the Rosary in your home.
Use the Knights of Columbus
“How to Pray the Rosary” prayer
card (#1877 — $3 per 100).
Go to Church together to receive
the sacrament of reconciliation.
The flyer “A Guide to
Confession” (#2075 — $3 per 100)
includes relevant teachings on
the reception of this sacrament.
Make time once a week to read
the Bible and then discuss chosen
passages.
Teach CCD classes as a family,
with the parents teaching and the
older children helping.
Parish Round Table Program
Knowing all the good that the
Knights bring to us, our families
and our communities, it is
our responsibility to offer every eligible
Catholic man an opportunity of
membership in our Order.
One of the Order’s goals
is to have a council in every
parish. With that as a goal,
councils at times find themselves
operating in more
than one parish.
The Knights of
Columbus Parish Round
Table program was implemented
to deal with this situation.
This program is for
councils that cover more
than one parish, providing the opportunity
for Knights of that council to
support their separate parishes as
they deem fit.
Establishing a Parish Round
Table is easy and beneficial. All
members of the parish who are
#2632
#4429, #9530, #9529
Knights, regardless of council affiliation,
are eligible to join the Round
Table. The pastor selects a parish
Knight to be the Round Table coordinator
and the grand knight makes the
appointment. The coordinator
is the Round Table’s only officer.
To implement a Round
Table, the grand knight and
financial secretary first divide
the council membership roster
by parish. The grand
knight and a Knight of the
parish should meet with the
pastor about the program.
They should stress that the
Round Table will present no
conflict with any other parish organization
because the pastor will assign
its projects.
The Round Table coordinator
should meet regularly (about once a
month) with the pastor to discuss
what the Round Table can do to help

Give each family member a
“Eucharistic Devotion” prayer
card (#4194E,S).
Use the Prayer for beatification of
the Servant of God, Pope John
Paul IJ (#9528, English, French,
Spanish, Polish), Prayer for His
Holiness Pope Benedict XVI
(#9530, English, French, Spanish,
Polish), Prayer to the Knights of
Columbus Mexican Martyrs — 6
Saints (#4229, English &
Spanish), Prayer to the Knights of
Columbus Mexican Martyrs — 2
Blessed (#4535, English &
Spanish) in your family’s prayers
and devotions.
Participate in open discussions
with your family on faith-based
issues that are occurring in your
community and in the world.
Participate in parish youth
groups, volunteer activities and
other programs as a family.
Make sure that your family members
begin and end each day with
prayer. Enable them to rejuvenate
their spiritual lives with the support
of the closest people around them,
their family.
the parish. The coordinator reports
Round Table activities to his council.
He also must complete the Annual
Report of the Knights of Columbus
Round Table (#2630) by June 30 of
each year and file it with the
Supreme Council. Copies of this
report are included on the Order’s
Web site at www.kofc.org and in the
Council Report Form Book (#1436).
The In Service to Our Parishes
(#4519) and the Knights of Columbus
Round Table (#2632) pamphlets contain
details and guidelines for establishing
Round Tables. You may find
this pamphlet by logging on to the
Order’s Web site. This pamphlet is
also included in the “Surge ... with
Service” kit mailed to financial secretaries
each fraternal year and available
from the Supreme Council
Supply Department at no charge if
ordered in reasonable quantities.

Tell Your Story with a Council Brochure
Prospective members may be
interested in joining the Knights
of Columbus because of the
many benefits that the Order offers to
its members. If this is the case, the
Supreme Council provides many
pamphlets, posters, and other membership
materials to inform prospects
and help them in their decision.
But what if the prospect asks
about your council its activities?
An effective way to tell prospective
members who you are and what
your council is all about is to make
your own council
brochure.
The Council
Brochure Template
(#4242) featuring an
image of a statue of
Father McGivney, as
well as a painting of
him and a color version
of the Order’s
emblem. The rest of
the space is left
blank to allow councils to personalize
their brochures. The template may be
ordered through the Supreme Council
Supply Department at a cost of $5.00
per package of 250 sheets.
The full-color council brochure
paper measures 8 1/2” x 11” and is
#4242
designed to make a tri-fold
council brochure.
Creating a council
brochure is not difficult. Put
some thought into your council’s
history, lay it out on the
brochure paper, and your council
will have an effective
means of telling your story!
Here are a few easy steps
to guide the process:
Choose what to promote
Look at your council’s programs
and events and decide
the ones you want
to promote in the
brochure.
Consider items that
would be of interest to
prospects, such as:
Service programs
Number of council
members
Awards earned by the
council
Council-sponsored
athletic activities
Available awards and scholarships
Charitable contributions
Pro-life activities
A brief history of the council
Orderwide initiatives, programs,
Award Adjustments
Below are additional award
adjustments for the 2006-
2007 fraternal year. The list
is alphabetical by state, followed by
council and award won (S — Star
Council and DS — Double Star).
Congratulations to our winners!
Councils that neglect to promote
Knights of Columbus
insurance products do their
members a grave disservice. The
Order’s life insurance, annuity and
long-term care products are among
the best in the industry. Our insurance
program enjoys the highest ratings
offered by
Standard & Poor’s
and A.M. Best.
Participating in
the insurance program
is not a requirement
for membership,
but it is a major
benefit of being a
member in the Order.
Your council should
work closely with
your general and field
#4532
agents. Ensure that
all your members are fully aware of
the outstanding products offered. You
can learn how to better promote this
benefit for your members by speaking
with your general or field agent,
or by ordering the Promoting the
Insurance Program flyer (#4532) from
the Knights of Columbus Supply
Department.
#4125
contributions, membership
benefits
Fonts, text, white space
Other ways to make your
brochure more visually pleasing
are using different type
fonts such as Times, Stencil,
Helvetica, Courier, etc., and
text styles such as italics, bold
and reverse type. Additional
white space is important to
give the reader’s eyes a rest
and not overwhelm him with
a page full of text.
An easy rule to follow
concerning content is if it doesn’t
help the reader understand the message,
then leave it out of the
brochure. Remember, the purpose of a
brochure is to be read. If it isn’t pleasing
to look at, no one will pick it up.
The flyer, “How to Design Your
Council’s Brochure” (#4125) includes
detailed instructions on the steps to
take in producing an attractive publication
that will introduce potential
Knights to your council and our
Order. This flyer is available from the
Supply Department at no charge when
ordered in reasonable quantities.
Recognize Perfect
Attendance
There are
some members
who are
always there for
the council, including
attending every
council meeting. #809
Your council can
recognize these dedicated Knights
with a Certificate of Perfect
Attendance (#809). This certificate,
presented to a member “In appreciation
for his dedication and personal
sacrifices” for perfect attendance at all
meetings during a prescribed period, is
available from the Supply Department
for 25 cents each. The certificate has a
horizontal design and is 8.5 by 11
inches. Space is provided for the signature
of the grand knight and the
name of the council. This certificate
is also available in French (#809F) and
Spanish (#809S) versions.

The Order’s VIP Club
We all know how important
new members are to
the Order. It’s no secret
new members enable the Knights
of Columbus to prosper throughout
the world. New members
mean new experiences, new ideas
and new possibilities for your
council. New members will carry
down the teachings and memories
of older members, keeping the
past and preserving the experiences
of members long gone. For
all Knights who want to enjoy the
“Experience of a Lifetime,” gathering
new members is a significant step.
If new members are that important,
then the recruiters who sign them up
are important too. Special thanks are
deserved to those who keep your council’s
numbers high. And just how do you
show your appreciation to the ones who
constantly infuse new members into
your council? Make them members in
the “VIP” Club.
The “Very Important Proposers”
Club is a great way to recognize your
recruiters. It stands as a constant
reminder that their work is important,
and that they are important and respected
throughout the Order.
A Knight is automatically entered
into the “VIP” Club once he recruits
two new prospects [provided that
Section 6 of the Membership Document
Form (#100) is completed].
The new “VIP” Club members will
automatically receive a signed certificate
from the supreme knight, and the
VIP Club lapel pin that recognizes him
#2488
Holy Christmas
and Happy
New Year to
Our Members
and Their
Families.
as a member of the club.
As members of the “VIP”
Club continue to recruit more
Knights, they are automatically
enrolled in the higher levels of the
club. As they attain these levels,
certificates are prepared and forwarded
to the councils for presentation
to the members. Lapel pins
recognizing the recruiter for his
efforts range from the 5-member
level to the 75-member level, and
can be purchased by contacting
the Supreme Council Supply
Department. For the 100-member level
and above, lapel pins are forwarded
directly by the Supreme Council.
Special incentives for “VIP” Club members
are being offered during this special
125th anniversary year. For more information
go to the “For Officers” section
of www.kofc.org and click on the
“Experience of a Lifetime” tab and then
The “Knights of Columbus Very
Important Proposers Club” flyer (#2488)
includes a detailed explanation of the
“VIP” Club program and step-by-step
instructions on implementing the program
in your council.
Recruiting is an art that stems from
motivated individuals and their ability
to interact with others.
Keep your recruiters motivated by
showing them that they are very important.
The more motivated the recruiters
are, the more chance that they can work
their magic and recruit new members.
