on starting new businesses in Singapore. The discussion
was professionally moderated by board member and Chief
Editor of the ADB Magazine, Frank Kuijsters.
October – Company visit: Asia Pacific Breweries
As expected, it was a good turn up for the Tiger Beer tour
on 24 October. A total of 50 members were lead through
the factory to see the entire process on how the beer is
brewed. After the tour, the members had the opportunity
to enjoy a cold beer and some food at the in-house bar.
November – Presentation at ANZ Bank´s new
headquarters
On 30 November, 62 members had the privilege to be
the first group of people to visit the new head quarters
of ANZ Bank in Singapore. After an introduction by Hans-
Peter Borgh, Head Affluent Banking Asia-Pacific, ANZ Chief
Economist Asia-Pacific Paul Gruenwald treated the audience
to a highly informative presentation on the economic and
financial outlook for the regions U.S., Europe and Asia, after
which Michiel Remers, Head of the Trading Floor, gave us a
snapshot of the daily activities in his division.
December – 20 th Black Tie Dinner and Dance Party
The 20 th annual black tie dinner and dance party took place
at Sentosa Resort & Spa on 10 December. It was a fantastic
evening with a lovely 5 course Christmas dinner, a groovy
band, a lucky draw and a great atmosphere. The sponsors
who greatly helped making this into a successful event
were Amicorp, ING and Rabobank. The lucky draw donors
were KLM Air France, Hollandse Club, The Sentosa Resort &
Spa, The Body Firm and Wine Directions.
ADB MAGAZINE AND WEBSITE
The ADB Magazine remains the most important means
of communication amongst our members. This year, the
Editorial Committee under the management of Chief
Editor, Frank Kuijsters, produced ten (10) publications of
the magazine with interesting reading. The Board thanks
all members of the Editorial Committee for their time and
effort put into it.
The ADB Website (www.adb.org.sg) is another
important channel for our members as well as for
any other interested people. The Board is grateful to
webmaster Edwin Nijhof for managing the website
excellently and for keeping it up to date.
