NEDA wants to use the sector’s potential
as growth driver and source of poverty
reduction in pushing for this policy
change. At the same time, it hopes for
the National Food Authority (NFA) to
improve its efficiency in production,
trading, and marketing of rice. This
requires substantial improvement
on productivity and increase of farm
incomes, especially among small farmers
and landless workers.
The upgrade, nonetheless, is expected to
increase entrepreneurial opportunities,
contribute to job generation and overall
economic stability.
PTTC and SSC tie up to offer
franchise management course
The Department of Trade and Industry
(DTI)’s export and micro, small, and
medium enterprise’s training arm, the
Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC),
and St. Scholastica’s College of Manila
tie up to provide a program that focuses
on Franchising Management.
The course will be offered to new
franchisors, high-growth business
owners, existing franchises, and possible
purchasers of franchise business.
Franchising has become one of the
biggest means to expand enterprises.
From a 5% contribution to the industry,
it has increased to 35% retail output.
This makes for a substantial reason to
provide learning courses for those who
wish to have their own franchise and
find out more about the business model.
The PTTC and SSC designed a
Graduate Certificate and Diploma in
Franchise Management approved by
the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED), and to be presented by reliable
resource persons like renowned
franchising experts, experienced industry
practitioners, and the like.
This course will lead to a Master of
Science, assuring enrollees, such as
new franchisors, high-growth business
owners, existing franchisees, and
possible purchasers of franchise business
their money and time’s worth.
