MEMBERSHIP:<br />

Peter Heading <strong>no</strong>ted that all invoices for 2013 year membership have been distributed <strong>and</strong> should be paid as soon as<br />

possible to avoid potential late fees! This is particularly important where members have Club Registration – failing to<br />

renew by end December could mean that their cars are un registered!<br />

SOCIAL:<br />

Paul McPherson delivered the following Social Roundup:<br />

AUSTIN HEALEY DISPLAY DAY – 64 big Healeys, nine Sprites <strong>and</strong> a good crowd, through Arthur’s “Regalia <strong>Do</strong>ors”. A<br />

quality display of our finest cars – <strong>and</strong>, an intriguing Healey “Ratrod” piloted by a grinning, Peter Rowl<strong>and</strong> – it certainly<br />

drew the crowds! Our indefatigable Regalia Officer triumphed again with good sales! Many thanks to all members,<br />

AHSDC members <strong>and</strong> the Healey Factory team with eight Healeys, for making the effort in contributing to the success of<br />

Victorian / South Australian Mini Rally – Port Fairy, last weekend – the SA organizing team of Paul & Barb Bradley<br />

<strong>and</strong>, Bronte & Grant Trotter spent much time <strong>and</strong> effort to set up a great time, for all participants. The accommodation was<br />

first class – all venues <strong>and</strong>, our Sunday run to Hamilton were done in fine to sunny weather. Everyone mixed in <strong>and</strong>,<br />

many new friendships were formed, with old ones renewed. Next year’s mini-rally date, <strong>and</strong> location, will appear in our<br />

social calendar, early in the new year.<br />

Melbourne Cup Day Luncheon – Peter <strong>and</strong> Lyn Edward’s institution for any Cup Day – 11.30 am, at 33 Craig Road,<br />

<strong>Do</strong>nvale. BYO everything. A terrific fun day for everyone, even those who don’t bet! Please speak to Peter or Lyn, after<br />

the meeting, if you have <strong>no</strong>t already done so. Their contact details are in 100s & 1000s, <strong>and</strong>, on our website.<br />

<strong>No</strong>vember ROF Run <strong>No</strong>rth – Mike Snelgrove is unavailable to organise this run therefore it is cancelled <strong>and</strong> instead<br />

members may like to attend the Western Region Run on 15 <strong>No</strong>vember.<br />

Historic S<strong>and</strong>own – <strong>No</strong>vember 9-11. For any members in a position to display their Healeys, we have limited tickets for<br />

free entry, with parking on the hill at the Princes Highway end of the main straight (with free bussing down to the pit area),<br />

on the Sunday. For those members able to attend Saturday, the VHRR have invited us to participate in the Show & Shine,<br />

entering through Gate 3, at the back of the Gr<strong>and</strong>st<strong>and</strong>. Come along <strong>and</strong> support our competition members at, what is a<br />

great meeting, second only to the Phillip Isl<strong>and</strong> Historics. Great viewing from the gr<strong>and</strong>st<strong>and</strong> with plenty of food vendors<br />

<strong>and</strong> motor sports industry stalls. We have a couple of tickets going, if anyone would like them. Please see me after the<br />

meeting.<br />

Tri-Club Run – to Bonnie <strong>Do</strong>on Hotel – Sunday, <strong>No</strong>vember 11 – we need numbers by this Sunday! Please contact me<br />

on my mobile, or email if you can make it. <strong>No</strong>te: Change of meeting place – service road, adjacent Anderson Street /<br />

Maroondah Highway, Lilydale, opposite Mc<strong>Do</strong>nalds, heading east! Departure from this point will be 9.30 am.<br />

Stopping at Yea, for morning tea <strong>and</strong>, One minute’s silence, observance, for Remembrance Day, before heading on to the<br />

Bonnie <strong>Do</strong>on Hotel, across the Eildon Weir road bridge – returning at your leisure, by either, Melba or Maroondah<br />

Highways. Cost is $25 per head for main / desert / tea or coffee, plus drinks.<br />

Western Region Run, Thursday, <strong>No</strong>vember 15 – David Kelly has organized a run out to Clyde Park Winery, near<br />

Leighbridge. Planned meeting point is the Ballarat Exit from the Geelong by-pass, at 11.30 am, for a short drive of 16 km,<br />

to the winery (rhs of the highway, A300 to Ballarat). Please advise David by Monday, <strong>No</strong>vember 12, if you can make it.<br />

<strong>No</strong>vember Peninsula Run is to the Tanti Hotel, Mornington – Wednesday, 25 th .<br />

Geelong Speed Trials / Revival Tour – <strong>No</strong>vember 29 <strong>and</strong> 30, for the tour – December 1 <strong>and</strong> 2, for the Speed Trials.<br />

AHOC Vic. Christmas luncheon <strong>and</strong> Presentation of Competition <strong>and</strong> Club Awards – at our clubrooms, Sunday,<br />

December 9 - 12.00 for 12.30. Three course sit-down luncheon, with entertainment – tables of eight. Mick Smith <strong>and</strong> her<br />

committee have planned a special event. We are still taking individual <strong>and</strong> table bookings for the lunch <strong>and</strong>, please join<br />

us, if you have <strong>no</strong>t already done so! Only cost to members is $20 per head. If you wish to bring guests, they are most<br />

welcome, at $55 per head. Top class entertainment. Put the date in your diary – Come in the Healey! Dress for the<br />

Mick’s “Giant Christmas Raffle” – will be drawn at the Christmas Luncheon – we are requesting your generous support,<br />

as previously, in donating items for inclusion in the baskets – food, wine, gifts etc. If you have <strong>no</strong>t donated to the raffle,<br />

please dig deep for the tickets – great value hampers. We are selling tickets <strong>and</strong>, will be, up to our luncheon – all tickets<br />

will have names on them, so that, when the draw is made, all winning tickets will be allocated a basket.<br />
