MARY PADGETT paints pastels that are distinctive for her use of color. She<br />
is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and has been featured in<br />
American Artist magazine. Her paintings are in numerous private and public<br />
collections, including Towers Perrin, Takasago International, and the Long<br />
Island Jewish Medical Center. She has participated in numerous local and<br />
national exhibitions, with an upcoming September 2013 exhibit at Edgewood<br />
Gallery in Syracuse. Mary was educated at Bos<strong>to</strong>n University and Syracuse<br />
University. She teaches locally and conducts plein air painting programs<br />

COL. ROBERT PRATT ’67HQ, a <strong>Manlius</strong> native, has a B.S. from Syracuse<br />
University and a M.A. from George<strong>to</strong>wn University. He retired from the Army<br />
as a lieutenant colonel in 1994. His passion for painting and drawing began<br />
about nine years ago, following a love of pho<strong>to</strong>graphy dating back 40 years.<br />
Some of his pho<strong>to</strong>graphs were published, particularly in Army publications in<br />
the 1980s. Most of Bob’s paintings are landscapes. His drawing has centered on<br />
portraiture, including commissioned portraits. Two of his Civil War portraits<br />
were published in June 2009.<br />
DAVIF RUFO is a doc<strong>to</strong>ral candidate in teaching and curriculum in art<br />
education at Syracuse University. With 17 years experience as an elementary<br />
classroom teacher, David’s current research interest is the self-initiated<br />
creativity of children in a child-centered environment. In addition <strong>to</strong> being a<br />
full-time teacher, David is also a visual artist and an instruc<strong>to</strong>r at Syracuse<br />
University where he has created and taught courses titled, “Art Educa<strong>to</strong>rs as<br />
Contemporary Artists” and “Art in the Classroom.” His most recent article<br />
titled, “Building Forts and Drawing on Walls,” was published in the May 2012<br />
issue of the peer-reviewed journal, Art Education. Previously, his article titled,<br />
“Allowing Artistic Agency in the Elementary Classroom,” was published in the<br />
May 2011 issue of “Art Education.” David also is an invited author at the online<br />
art blog, ALT/space.<br />
LINDA SALTER is a nationally recognized and published artist/ craftsperson<br />
working in fine gold and silver cloisonné enamel, wheel-thrown functional<br />
s<strong>to</strong>neware, hand-spun fibers, and other media. Her forms and images reflect<br />
the physical and spiritual realms of imagination. Her works are included in<br />
many private collections; she operates a production pottery studio during the<br />
summer at her home near George<strong>to</strong>wn, N.Y. and teaches metalworking,<br />
enameling, pottery, and drawing courses at MPH.<br />
WILLIAM SCHU II is a general surgeon with Central New York Surgical<br />
Physicians. Bill earned his B.A. from Hamil<strong>to</strong>n College and his M.D. from<br />
SUNY Buffalo. He did his medical and surgical training, as well as research, at<br />
Upstate Medical University. Outside his demanding career, Bill will fill the<br />
hours creating his watercolors. Bill, his wife Deborah, and their two children,<br />
Rebekah, Class of 2010, and William, Class of 2011, live in Lafayette, N.Y.
