THE POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATION OF CHLORIMURON-ETHYL/THIFENSULFURON-METHYL IN ROUNDUP READY SOYBEANS RESULTED IN<br />

SIGNIFICANT CHLOROSIS AND LEAF DISTORTION. THE POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATION OF ACIFLUORFEN, FOMESAFEN,<br />

THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL/THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, IMAZETHAPYR AND IMAZAMOX PLUS<br />

FOMESAFEN ALL REDUCED THE HEIGHT OF THE BEANS SHORTLY AFTER APPLICATION. THE CROP RECOVERED FROM THIS EARLY SEASON<br />

INJURY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE APPLICATION OF GLUFOSINATE, WHICH RESULTED IN SIGNIFICANT INJURY TO ROUNDUP READY<br />

SOYBEANS AS EXPECTED. GLYPHOSATE PROVIDED EXCELLENT CONTROL OF ATXPA. THIFENSULFURON-METHYL PROVIDED EXCELLENT<br />

THE POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATION OF FOMESAFEN AND IMAZETHAPYR PLUS BENTAZON RESULTED IN LEAF DISTORTION OF THE SECOND AND<br />

THIRD TRIFOLIATE. THE APPLICATION OF IMAZETHAPYR RESULTED IN CHLOROSIS OF THE LEAF MARGINS. THE APPLICATION OF<br />

CLORANSULAM-METHYL RESULTED IN CURVATURE OF THE LEAF MIDRIB. THE APPLICATION OF ACIFLUORFEN, FOMESAFEN,<br />

THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL/THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, CLORANSULAM-METHYL, IMAZETHAPYR,<br />

IMAZETHAPYR PLUS BENTAZON, AND IMAZAMOX PLUS FOMESAFEN ALL REDUCED THE HEIGHT OF THE BEANS SHORTLY AFTER APPLICATION.<br />

Trial Comments<br />

The postemergence application of acifluorfen, fomesafen and bentazon resulted <strong>in</strong> significant <strong>in</strong>jury <strong>in</strong> Roundup Ready soybeans shortly after application but the crop recovered<br />

quickly. The application of glufos<strong>in</strong>ate <strong>in</strong> Roundup Ready soybeans resulted <strong>in</strong> significant crop <strong>in</strong>jury as would be expected. Chlorimuron-ethyl, chlorimuron-ethyl/thifensulfuronmethyl<br />

and glyphosate provided excellent full season control of SONOL. Imazamox plus fomesafen, imazamox plus bentazon and glufos<strong>in</strong>ate provided good control of SONOL.<br />

The rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g herbicide treatments evaluated provided poor to fair control of SONOL.<br />

SOYBEANS RESULTED IN SIGNIFICANT CHLOROSIS AND LEAF DISTORTION. THE POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATION OF ACIFLUORFEN, FOMESAFEN,<br />

THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL, CHLORIMURON-ETHYL/THIFENSULFURON-METHYL, CLORANSULAM-METHYL AND<br />

IMAZETHAPYR ALL REDUCED THE HEIGHT OF THE BEANS SHORTLY AFTER APPLICATION. THE CROP RECOVERED FROM THIS EARLY SEASON<br />

There was no <strong>in</strong>jury <strong>in</strong> soybeans with the preplant herbicide treatments evaluated. The preplant application of glyphosate plus flumetsulam/metolachlor or amitrole plus<br />

flumetsulam/metolachlor both provided good full season control of EQUAR. In addition, all of the herbicide treatments evaluated provided good to excellent full season control of<br />

SONOL, POLPE, AMBEL and SETVI.<br />

THERE WAS NO INJURY IN ROUNDUP READY SOYBEANS WITH THE APPROVED HERBICIDES. GLUFOSINATE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT INJURY IN<br />

ROUNDUP READY SOYBEANS AS EXPECTED. CLORANSULAM-METHYL PROVIDED FAIR FULL SEASON CONTROL OF SOLCA. A SINGLE<br />

APPLICATION OF GLYPHOSATE PROVIDED GOOD CONTROL OF SOLCA. THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO RATES OF<br />

GLYPHOSATE EVALUATED. THE CONTROL IMPROVED NUMERICALLY WITH THE SEQUENTIAL APPLICATION. THERE WAS NO BENEFIT OF ADDING<br />

CLORANSULAM-METHYL TO GLYPHOSATE COMPARED TO GLYPHOSATE ALONE IN ROUNDUP READY SOYBEANS. GLUFOSINATE PROVIDED<br />

Trial Comments<br />

The application of glufos<strong>in</strong>ate <strong>in</strong> Roundup Ready soybeans resulted <strong>in</strong> significant visual crop <strong>in</strong>jury as would be expected. There was no <strong>in</strong>jury with the other herbicide treatments<br />

evaluated. The sequential application of glyphosate or glufos<strong>in</strong>ate provided the best full season control of SONAR. The application of cloransulam-methyl, chlorimuron-ethyl,<br />

chlorimuron-ethyl/thifensulfuron-methyl, imazethapyr plus bentazon and a s<strong>in</strong>gle application of glyphosate all provided fair control of SONAR. Imazamox plus fomesafen,<br />

imazamox plus bentazon and a s<strong>in</strong>gle application of glufos<strong>in</strong>ate provided poor full season control of SONAR.<br />

There was no <strong>in</strong>jury <strong>in</strong> Roundup Ready soybeans with the postemergence herbicides evaluated. A s<strong>in</strong>gle application of glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butyl, quizalofop-p-ethyl,<br />

There was no commercially significant <strong>in</strong>jury <strong>in</strong> Roundup Ready soybeans with the postemergence herbicides evaluated. A s<strong>in</strong>gle application of glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butyl,<br />

quizalofop-p-ethyl, fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, clethodim, and sethoxydim provided excellent full season control of PANMI. Consequently there was no benefit from the sequential<br />
