With regard to Canon VII, some amplification is necessary. This canon certainly does not teach that<br />

a priest cannot be given the authority to confirm. It is also possible that the Pope has the authority to<br />

empower a priest to act as an extraordinary minister <strong>of</strong> the Sacrament <strong>of</strong> Order. These points are<br />
