GeoSurvey, Ltd. is an ALTA/ASCM land title survey company<br />
located in Marietta, <strong>Georgia</strong>. Founded in 1996,<br />
they currently have 16 employees and provide land survey<br />
services throughout <strong>Georgia</strong> and the surrounding states.<br />
When you talk with Trent Turk, CEO, and Jamey Coleman,<br />
COO, you quickly realize these gentlemen know their<br />
business very well.<br />
After 14 years of owning several different brands of<br />
robotic equipment and experiencing constant repairs<br />
along the way, they decided it was time to start looking for<br />
their fourth generation of robots. Their search led them to<br />
Trimble and <strong>Duncan</strong>-<strong>Parnell</strong>. They were aware of Trimble’s<br />
reputation for ease of use, reliability and speed. And, they<br />
were impressed by <strong>Duncan</strong>-<strong>Parnell</strong>’s willingness to help<br />
them as they worked through their decision process.<br />

The decision to switch to Trimble did not happen immediately. <strong>For</strong> example, during the demonstration phase of their evaluation, they tried<br />
out the latest solutions from a couple of other major brands in addition to the Trimble ® S6. They were surprised at how much more diffi cult<br />
these other instruments were to set up in the robotic mode when compared to the S6. According to Trent, when side-by-side comparison<br />
tests were run, “you could literally see the difference. The S6 provided more data and it was more accurate.”<br />
Still, to be on the safe side, they ultimately decided to purchase an S6 and one of the other units, so they could thoroughly test them<br />
against each other in the fi eld before making their fi nal decision. It didn’t take long for the fi eld crews to weigh in, and they weren’t<br />
happy with the competitive unit. In fact, they starting engaging in friendly competition to see who would get to use the Trimble S6 for the<br />
day. Within a few months, GeoSurvey had replaced all of their old robots with Trimble S6 units, and they even sold the competitive unit<br />
they had purchased for comparison.<br />
In the end, it came down to confi dence and performance. Trent and Jamey were more confi dent in having a one-man crew equipped<br />
with an S6 than they were in having a two-man crew using the other unit. “The speed of the S6 immediately made us money,” says Trent.<br />
“And I can’t say enough about <strong>Duncan</strong>-<strong>Parnell</strong>. They bent over backwards in every possible way throughout the process. When some<br />
little issues came up during the transition process, they worked closely with Trimble to get us taken care of.”<br />
After standardizing on the Trimble S6 Robotic Total Station, GeoSurvey also elected to standardize on Trimble controllers and GPS receivers.<br />
“It just made good business sense,” according to Jamey. “We like to standardize on a particular solution because it’s more effi cient<br />
that way.” So today, when you see GeoSurvey crews throughout the Southeast, you’ll notice they all use Trimble robots, GPS solutions<br />
