Challenges Accessing Services • TANF: Some eligibility requirements do not include the income of grandparents, making it a child-only case. • Grandparents should obtain legal custody of their grandchildren to make medical & educational decisions. • May have difficulties accessing Medicaid & Food Stamps (Minkler & Roe, 1996; Mullen, 2000).
