David laughed <strong>and</strong> tugged at one arm while Fionglé pushed her from behind. “A<br />
bit more, a bit more.” He insisted.<br />
“You keep saying that, but it’s never just a bit!”<br />
The boys laughed <strong>and</strong> dragged her to an area that was (thank the Gods <strong>and</strong><br />
Goddesses) level <strong>and</strong> shaded by trees. They followed a trail until they reached a closed<br />
<strong>of</strong>f area <strong>of</strong> stone <strong>and</strong> the bluest water she had ever seen.<br />
“We call it The Blue Basin,” David grinned <strong>and</strong> urged her to sit down <strong>and</strong> soak<br />
her feet.<br />
Mila sighed at the cold blue water <strong>and</strong> tilted her face up towards the sun. “Thank<br />
you for bringing me here, David.”<br />
“It will help heal your wounds.”<br />
“I’m not injured.” Mila looked down at him, her face confused.<br />
He smiled <strong>and</strong> shook his head. “Your heart hurts.” He closed his eyes <strong>and</strong> placed<br />
his h<strong>and</strong> on her shoulder. “I can feel it, just a little. You’re not sick, but you are sad.<br />
Healing makes Mila’s heart sad, but makes it happy too.”<br />
Mila, in her months <strong>of</strong> being around him, <strong>and</strong> not known that David had this<br />
ability. Her eyes were filled with tears as she nodded to him. “Yes. I don’t like it when I<br />
can’t save people. What good is being a healer if you can’t save anyone? So I try to help<br />
as many people as I can, but sometimes I still cry when one <strong>of</strong> my patients dies.”<br />
David put his small arms around her <strong>and</strong> gave her a tight hug. “Heal your heart<br />
wounds here.” He pulled Mila into the deep water with him.<br />
She closed her eyes <strong>and</strong> slowly let go <strong>of</strong> her worries as the laughs <strong>and</strong> playful<br />
shrieks <strong>of</strong> the children sounded around her, echoing <strong>of</strong>f <strong>of</strong> the basin walls a thous<strong>and</strong><br />
