The steamer Yamahiko Maru
sailed from Pirie yesterday with
6,872 tons of barley for Japan.
While the vessel was in port the
engineering firm of S. J. Cheesman
and Co. built stalls to accommo
date 250 head of cattle, which will
be taken aboard in Sydney.

Rifle Shooting At
Crystal Brook
Crystal Brook Rifle Club held its
final shoot for the year-a double
over 700 yards. Conditions were
difficult
owing to changeable winds
and mirages. The event was held
in conjunction with a Christmas
shoot, where light refreshments
were taken to the accompaniment
of music supplied by club mem
